Learn all about consonant digraphs "sh", "ch", "th", and "wh". Each letter team is introduced individually in a fun video followed by the opportunity to read and write words with that team. Next children choose the letter team that can represent each isolated sound followed by selecting the team that can spell the missing sound in words, a key task for spelling that also supports reading. Both the voiced and unvoiced sounds spelled by "th" are clearly explained (this vs thin). Bonus material includes an explanation of the consonant trigraph "tch" at the end of words plus practice reading words that have this letter team at the end. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is for children to learn to read with this method!

This app quickly provides a simple, accurate, and thorough understanding of these consonant digraphs! It avoids using words with digraphs that aren’t taught in this app, so it is a great introduction to letter teams. Listening to words and picking the team that spells the missing sound rapidly builds the skills needed for both reading and writing.

2.0 Radically improved functionality and table of contents. No accidental swiping. Also, each sound is now individually introduced and the child chooses between two sounds (sh and ch) before the third digraph is added (th). The digraph wh is now taught separately at the end. It is taught as the same sound as w because that is how it is now pronounced by nearly all Americans. Writing pages function much better now without accidental swiping, and both reading and writing pages have an easy reset button to practice them again.
