I enjoy this game! However, you guys have this game rigged for the opponent to have the upper hand most of the games! They continuously get Nils, and they always have just the right cards between them for you to lose. If I win a couple of games, I can be sure that the opponents will have multiple Nils the next game. They usually make their Nils, so there’s no sense in playing any further because you cannot win now! Or I play a Nil, with all low cards, and the opponents will still Set me even though the highest card in my hand may be a seven! That is very disturbing, and I usually throw in my cards, because I feel cheated! Your game is designed better than most spades games, but you have a few flaws that need to be corrected!

I’ve been using this app for a few weeks now, and while I do enjoy it there are some improvements needed. The first is connectivity, players get disconnected mid-game I’d say 30% of the time. What’s strange is many of these players are fully active up until the moment they get disconnected. This is a frustrating experience, especially because games of Spades can last over 30 minutes. It’s disappointing to be on a winning streak, or a come back, only to have the game end abruptly. Apparently players also lose 3 points if disconnected, this hasn’t happened to me personally, but if it did with any frequency I would abandon the app all together. I speculate that these players are using their phones and/or not connected to WiFi? A few reccos- 1 if the former is the case, make it clear players should connect to WiFi. 2- I’d also recommend allowing ping time before disconnecting.

The other area of improvement is better administration of chats. I’ve seen players verge on verbal abuse during games and contacting the app about it isn’t easy. Even in the common chats people use derogatory and hurtful language, specifically the throwing around homophobic terms. The functionality for turning off table talk doesn’t work either. That should be the very minimum of improvements on this matter

Pretty good game. I like that it gives the option the The algorithm for the partner does not play very well, or like a typical human would play that actually knows the game. He consistently plays the wrong card and bids the wrong numbers. the Algorithm used in the computer partner it’s not very good at the game however, the competition plays very well together. For example, I playing ace of hearts, and then my partner plays the king of hearts which would lead me to believe he doesn’t have any more hearts, and then, in the next hand, he plays a lower heart, so he does not get the book for the king. I am horrified by how overtly racist the administration is on this app. The last time I was banned it was for calling out their racism in the common chat. I was recently permanently banned for essentially doing the same thing. A user called “Site Admin” came into the chat and actually started harassing people. And they started addressing the black people in the chat in a super offensive way in their attempt at “black people talk” which was essentially super ghetto. I was horrified. Then they made fun of my picture to which I responded by highlighting their ignorance and got banned.

On the positive side, it isn’t Americans who are this racist. It is obviously Russians. God bless America!

There isn’t anything you can do besides leave a negative review and then report them. I reported them to Apple and now looking into other ways to highlight the racism here. So far researching how to bubble it up to the FTC, even though being that they are Russian and most likely operating somewhere out of Europe, they are bound by EU guidelines. The platform is great. You can talk to ppl, it’s realistic, and rated. It needs some serious work in the ratings in game though. You can absolutely be wiping the floor with the other team and they’ll get mad and cause a disconnection due to being absent too long. The game ends. They get -3 and their partner automatically get over 1 point towards rating. The team that would have won gets less than 1 rating point!! It’s ridiculous. I’ve had several games in a row go like this. Getting less than one point for being too good. It’s a terrible design. Other than that it’s great.

I love the ease of the game. I play online so the robots play like real people. I play daily. I like how you can reverse a move if you place a card accidentally. Sometimes I don’t like how your partner may not be trying to get the most points out of the game, but overall I love it. I would play it for money if that was an option.

I really like the Nil option for a bid. That’s an option I really like because it’s a challenge to get the 100 points from that bid. If you win a couple of games in a row, you can almost bet that the opponent will bet Nils for the next couple of hands and they will get their Nil hands too.

I wish it was easier to set your opponent playing online but it’s almost impossible (notice I said almost because I have set them before). It’s fun and easy to get used to playing, that’s why I play daily.

This spades version is rigged. I labeled my partner Bagger. Need I say more? In real life, Bagger would never be chosen as a partner. Bagger also frequently strips me of my trick-stealing spades for no good reason. The player to my left just about always has the right card to take my trick. The player to my right isn’t quite as fortunate with deals, but is like Cards! - more often than not, dealt high spades/cards more often than me or Bagger. I wish we could switch amongst partners with different skill levels and playing styles instead of being stuck with an algorithm partner who decides when we will lose and when we will win - and I know because I rely on the undo key to test my theories. There are games Bagger is simply determined to lose no matter how the cards are played. I just want a fair game to play for fun. I don’t understand why developers find the need to ruin that with cheating/unfair algorithms.

Even with several long winning streaks, I am not happy with the app’s algorithm. When I last emailed support, they responded by stating that underbidding is based on common sense. Really? The bots don’t stop taking tricks once they have met their bid. This is stupidity, not common sense. My bot partner usually trumps with a spade and then leads out with an ace or king even if their bid was one. I can’t tell you how many times my bot partner plays the ace or king of spades AFTER they have already met their bid. Avoiding the 100 point sandbag penalty is key to my winning streaks. I just deleted the app (again) after Marta went nil EVERY round, surely leading to a loss. Definitely not realistic. I learned to play spades in 1990 with three friends, using a real deck of cards and keeping score on paper. This app is nothing like that. The “go back” button is the only thing I like about it. Ugh.

I want to give this game 5 stars, but there is a problem with constantly having to restart the game, or hesitations. Once these bugs get worked out, this will be the best spades game on the App Store, in my opinion. I base this on comparing this game with others I have played. I play offline and the other apps are annoying because your own teammate doesn't seem to understand how to play the game, trumping over you when you won the play, causing you to run out your spades before you make the books you committed to. On the other games, your partner works against you. On this game, you have a system that understands how the game is played so playing offline is not frustrating.

I love this game, and there are enough players on it to get a game every time. Play and visuals are well designed and seamless, as are settings and chat.

BUG: lately there’s been a new issue way too often. It seems their servers are busy or overused, and I can’t stay connected. It’s constantly trying to connect — it sometimes reaches just enough to not forfeit the game for being away too long, but still it’s awful.

FEATURE REQUEST: Resign should be allowed, if both partners agree. This would save SO much dead time wasted playing out hopeless situations. I bet players will love this!
