Not perfect, but big kudos for innovation
I give 5 stars because it's still better than most "5 star" paid-for-reviews apps on the app store (read: 3/4 of the app store). Fun controls, ambitious story. A bit too ambitious perhaps - frame rate chugs nearly everywhere on iphone 5, and some of the voice acting is pretty bad, though the dialogue itself is pretty good. The main character's voice acting is probably the worst of all, sounds like a dev decided he wanted to be an actor. Other voice actors, such as the computer, are at a professional level, so it's a bit puzzling that the voice you'll hear most is the most poorly acted in the game. Once you figure out the combat its really fun. And it's possible the 5s can keep up with the engine, but I havent seen. Anyway, with the lack of quality rpg's on the app store, this is a no-brainer. If you have problems with the combat, jump in the arena for a minute and it will click in no time.

Fun game, but a bit buggy
I really enjoyed this game on my iPad 4th gen back in 2013 when it launched, and Aaron Ruiz Moora - the technical director of the game - was friends with me on Twitter. However, upon playing it again on my iPhone 6S I encountered a game breaking bug during the warehouse stealth level in Chapter 3 where the game would crash and delete my save files continously making the whole process very annoying - I had to switch from my iPhone 6S on 10.3.1 to my iPhone 5S on 8.1.1 to make this app work after I found out it hasn't been updated since November of 2013. After I switched to my 5S, everything worked fine except for my SteelSeries Nimbus MFi Controller as I had to end up switching to touch controls which confused me at first. Luckily the game didn't overstay its welcome and the length of it was perfect, and a really fun game too so I'll go for 4 Stars rating here! I highly recommend it if your phone or iPad's old enough to run it flawlessly as it's a fantastic game with a great 3D open world and powers to use.

the new iOS ARPG standard
Fippin' amazing, and by just 7 individuals!!! The defining moment for action/adventure RPGs on multi-touch. Bioshock-lite meets Devil May Cry with only a tad less flair and nearly the polish, for a few well-deserved bucks, easily worth twice its price. Sports some pretty phenomenal character animation.
The battle control scheme takes getting used to, but I hope it becomes the standard touch combat system because it's so simple and seamless that if you're paying attention to what you're doing it blends precision and versatility. It's a crime so many of this app's negative reviews are for control when it solves all the touchscreen issues for combat so brilliantly if you just give it the chance to sink in!
Buy this so we can see the other 2 episodes (devs say there's multitouch special moves in store...)!

A brilliant story, excellent graphics, fighting style I've never seen in iOS before, great music, great touch screen controls...what does this game lack? Oh yeah, the next episodes.

Crazy good
I was hooked at the loading screen, and that opening dream was beautiful. In my opinion, this is the best hack and slash for any touch device. The story is pretty cinematic, though it suffers from adequate voice acting. Though that's not a reason to not get this game. It's also good that you implemented the arena mode for replayability. The controls are unique, but I do recommend an option for thumbs tick controls with buttons.
One more thing. I'm not to fond of the music that plays during combat. Partially because it sounds like dubstep, partially because it ruins the intense mood.

Get EP.2 OUT!!!!!!
This was SUCH a fun game! I'll admit the controls were hard AT FIRST but after 30 minutes i really liked them! I'm super excited for the next one. Please keep it at $.99 though. I feel that at anything more people will not want to pay the amount. This is for pretty much any app too not just this one. Great story and am excited for the next!

Sets the bar for all future RPGs on touch devices
I don't know where to start. The way you control character movement, the voice acting, the music, the story, the environments....I could not be more impressed. Even the small things like being able to skip through dialogue scenes. This game is made by some smart folks, believe me.

Just finished the game.
Amazing game. Immersive experience. Balance of rpg, stealth, and action. Just some suggestions.
I thought the sound effects could be a little better, especially during combat. The hit could use a more deeper noise. Also, the train sounds could have been helpful. Finally, the combat could have been harder.

Buy this game NOW
The controls and combat take a little but of getting used to. But once you do you'll be loving the combat. Arena mode alone warrants a purchase of this game because it lets you fight against an infinite number of bad guys, and enjoy the intuitive combat system to its fullest. Great game, I can't wait for episode 2.

Such an amazing game, the music is fantastic, I wish we would get some type of update on what their plans are for the continuation of this game. Hey developers could you release this on steam to give this game a second chance at exposure. It would be such a waste of talent to not see this game fully completed.
