rudyhorse,
Interaction with Apple Watch
I love the app, but an issue has permeated it since its creation: Apple Watch interaction.

For some peculiar reason, there is a bug in the app where if someone, while listening to the app on the iPhone, switches watches (meaning changes from one Apple Watch being connected and powered up to another) it automatically disconnects and resets. The most interesting part is that this is a constant through all versions of the app and iOS. Additionally, it is applicable solely to this app, not the other streaming applications.

If you can fix this (and possibly make entire shows, or at least the majority of show segments available to be heard later as other station streaming apps do now) then this app will definitely get 5 stars.

Thank you for what you’ve done to your bodies...
WayneMerritt,
Love the accessibility improvements
I am a long time P-1 now living in Austin. I have listened to The Ticket through the app for many years. I am also blind and a VoiceOver user on my iPhone. Thank you very much for the accessibility improvements in the latest update. Before, many of the buttons in the now-playing screen were not labeled properly and there was no way for me to close that screen except by closing and re-opening the app. I also appreciate the other improvements to the main app screen, since it takes half the number of swipes for me to navigate the Dallas Morning News sports headlines. I'm not sure how many other people with disabilities who use accessibility features contacted you, but coming from a dedicated Ticket listener, I'd like to express my appreciation for these updates. Please let me know if I can help in any way to make the app more usable by the blind. Thanks for your time.
P Keenan,
Unreliable Stream
As a P1, it hurts me to write this, but this app has taken a sharp turn into becoming useless. The stream has become intermittent for no good reason at times — limited service or good service (all bars, wifi). This applies to the replay/rewind feature too. I’ve tried to replay or rewind to catch a segment numerous times in the past 3 months, and all it does is display “BUFFERING”… and never resumes the broadcast.

If The Ticket is going to continue to pursue this app partnership, then they should put some decent engineers on this thing. Especially if they’re going to count on their stream numbers for ratings. This app has frustrated me so much recently that I’ve considered just not listening to my favorite station anymore. I’d like to listen to “Muse in the News” live, not just keep my fingers crossed that it shows up on Spotify’s Top Ten podcast list.
kahuna de tequila,
OK...
I’m running iOS 13.x on an iPhone 11 Pro. App is okay for streaming the Ticket but isn’t polished and kinda buggy. The UI isn’t real good. An extra step or even two to start the stream. For me the play and rev/fwd buttons are shoved too far to the bottom. When you pause from outside the app and try to resume, it takes at least two attempts and even then sometimes doesn’t work. That’s been going on for multiple versions. When it does happen, I have to go into the app and about 20% of the time end up getting an error on resuming; I have to reboot the app. I would only recommend if you don’t have a 3rd party streaming app that you like.
Mike R. Jameson,
Poorly written, invasive app
I got this app to listen to the Ticket while driving. 2 problems with it:

1. I used the app sporadically over the course of the week. This app somehow consumed over 7 GB of data from streaming 2-3 hours of audio. So now my data has been completely used for the month and I don’t get internet. What in the world was this app doing in the background to consume 7 GB of data?

2. When I listen to the app via Bluetooth in my car, when I turn my car on the app automatically opens and starts playing audio and using data! Even if the sports day app is completely closed out. And when I turn my car off the audio continues playing on the speaker on my phone. The only work around I’ve found is to uninstall the app and re-download it when I want to listen to the ticket again.

Stealing people’s data like this is terrible, if that isn’t a violation of Apple’s Terms of Service it should be.

The way the developers configured the app to secretly open in the background and auto play is incredibly annoying and unethical.
Engelland1,
Disconnection Issues
Always get disconnected even with good cellular reception! I have to pause and then press play but usually get a “buffering” message. Super frustrating!

Update ! Changed review to 5 star. Received and reply from DMN and was told they found the issue and fixed it. I tried the updated app and it works great and the stream of 1310 The Ticket is flawless. Thanks for your attention and I will use it every day!
ParkerDixon,
My pig
My pig found itself smart enough to hop over the barrier from his pen to the next pen & eat all of that pigs food & then go to the next one & eat all of that pigs food & then the next one & eat all of that pigs food & make his way back in time for when it was my turn my time to feed him; he had already eaten three meals & would just be sitting there waiting for me & I would feed him & he would eat that. That’s why he gained so much weight & got sifted at the fat stock show.
dans wife's lawnmower,
It’s a free app that allows me to skip commercials
Having said that- it looses its place when paused by other apps. Navigation programs, spoken text messages, phone calls. Just jumps to “live”. Nothing buffers the way this thing buffers. If I restart my phone, it seems to improve for a day, but it’s still not “good”. I’ve also tried deleting and reinstalling the app, and deleting the app, shutting off the phone for 20 minutes, and reinstalling. I have the app going 10-12 hours a day during the week, and it requires constant attention.
West Texas Insomniac,
App Crashing
This has been my single favorite app for years. I live in Florida and listen to The Ticket several hours a day. For the last few days I can’t listen but for a few minutes without the app crashing. My phone always has the latest updates. I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app. It’s just maddening. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
MacDuff2000,
Drains battery unnecessarily
I suspect this app drains the battery unnecessarily compared to other streaming audio apps.

Also, the host pictures are awful. They look were clearly done as cheaply as possible. The Photoshopping is amateur-level, and the pictures haven’t been updated in years. Photoshop is supposed to make people look better, not worse.

The segment titles are frequently wrong. It will say “Dallas Stars vs. Team X” a week after that game was played. They should just give up on segment titles. The segment titles frequently have too much text to be properly displayed anyway.
