Description

Designed with simplicity in mind, StairClimbs tracks the number of floors you’ve climbed in a day. The visual progress meter gives a clear representation of how close you are to reaching your daily stair-climbing goal. Like to climb against time? Take advantage of the timer feature and race against the clock.

***Compatibility Note***
StairClimbs will only work on devices containing the M7, M8, M9, or M10 motion processor and barometer. The combination of these features can only be found in iPhone 6 and newer devices. StairClimbs will not work on iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone SE, or older devices.

djvfrhiifxhjjjk,
No history
I’m an older lady living in a 2nd floor walk up apartment, and have to walk my dog several times a day over and above any other time I need to leave the apartment (going to work, shopping, going to the gym, etc.). I walk with a cane as I’m waiting hip replacement surgery. This app rarely captures all my climbs, especially when I’m using the cane or carrying packages, groceries, etc.

I saw a review that said that I have to carry the phone upright in my hand to get a reading. Well, groceries, cane, dog leash, packages and holding on to the railing take priority over babying my phone to get a reading!

But one of my biggest complaints is there is no history. Why can’t I access yesterday’s numbers? Or last week’s? I should be able to see if my numbers increase over time as well as whether my times improve. There should be lists and graphs that show the history.

I’m ready to delete.
TPendarakis,
It turns out this is a great app.
I left a low rating for this app yesterday. I am updating my rating and review because I have learned how to properly use the app. The developer was kind enough to correspond with me by email, which was helpful.

If I hold my iPhone flat in the palm of my hand facing upward the app will accurately count flights as I climb up and down my stairs. My stairway has 17 steps and exceeds the 10 foot height required for my iPhone altimeter to work properly.

The app also has a timer which motivates me to train harder. Instead of just working lower body I am now also getting a good cardio workout.
Yohogirl,
Doesn’t work well
I had hoped this app would be accurate as I live in a two-story house and I’m very happy to go up and down the steps often but wanted to keep track. This is my third attempt at a stair climbing app and I will delete it as it is so inaccurate.
I will rely on my aging memory.

Accurate but simple
The app is accurate with the matrix stair climber at the gym. Unfortunately, though there is no history. Or, there is history that I don’t know how to get to.
in mind builder,
Doesn’t work
I just ran up a rowing tower that has 5 stories - 160 steps up and down 6 times and it said that I didn’t go up any flights

Doesn’t work
I downloaded this because the activity app isn’t recording all of my flights. I climbed 8 floors; this app recorded 2! Activity app recorded 5 👎🏻
slam32384,
Does not work
I reset the clock and started climbing up and down a flight of 14 steps several times. The app indicated zero climbed. What am I doing wrong?
