Why go on a boring old walk when you can be a secret agent? Or run through the streets of a new city to escape a zombie apocalypse? Have you ever read a story and wished you could be in it? Calling the shots, helping the good guys (or bad), choosing your adventure. Story City makes you the hero of your own story, giving you the chance to take part in your own adventure in cities across the world.
Each story only opens when you're in the right location. Whether it's fiction or non-fiction, a musical journey or scavenger hunt, all stories on Story City are made by creators who know their cities best.

Each story starts at a particular location in the city it’s set and can either follow one path or branch off into dozens of different locations around the city (and which ones you visit will depend on the path you pick through the adventure).
Will you explore Atlanta while running from a zombie apocalypse? Or how about cruising the Austin streets while solving a mystery? Or will you be pillaging the city looking for pirate supplies? Perhaps you'll take a musical journey with a Native American storyteller and drummer, or learn about your local non-profit in a social issues walk.

IMPORTANT - Story City uses background GPS, to ensure story pages are unlocked when you reach the target location. If you turn off the functionality, the app will cease to work. Please see Story City website help pages for information on how to turn the GPS back on if you have accidentally turned it off.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We recommend the use of a battery pack while playing.

**User profile settings was not allowing users to change their penname, however now **oooh ahh*** it does allow you to change and save your penname! Crazy!

We’ve been feeling a little anti-social recently so we decided to fix that! In this latest (and greatest) release yet you’ll find:
- You can now log in using your favourite social logins (as long as your favourite logins are Facebook, Google and Apple),
- Some small gremlins in the ‘Create Account via Email’ flow have been taught better manners, and
- We’ve tweaked Apple maps so that it works harder, better, faster, stronger…

To all the map lovers and navigation nerds out there, this update is for you!
The app now has in-app navigation which allows you to fully expand your map at each location and get some handy directions to your next chapter. No here-be-dragons guessing for you any more!
And after making your choice at the bottom of the page buttons, not only will you get your directions, but the next piece of story will automatically open with a buzz and a welcome chime!

After several heart-to-hearts between our development team & the Story City code (who would like us to acknowledge its sentience), we have come to an understanding on the following bug fixes:
*The location bug causing locations not to trigger properly is now fixed so you can do your adventures unhindered
*After merging multiverses, stories without audio no longer have their text missing in another dimension
*All stories are now appearing on the map like they’re supposed to * gives evil eye to code *
*When you add a story to your library, the app promises to acknowledge you’ve done so with the right buttons
*We’ve add a new help function so we can address any issues you’re having faster.

Our map is now snappier and groups all of our stories' pins into groups as you zoom out!
We optimised how the app talks to our server and sped up loading lists of stories.
Usernames are now case insensitive, so the user MonkeyBusiness can't have another account under mOnKeYbUsINesS. There can only be one person with the username LeetHaxor now.
Links to webpages no longer load in the app, they'll take you to your favorite browser for a more familiar viewing experience.
