FEATURE UPDATE
In this release we've added exciting depth for the new trainer notes feature. Specifically, we've added advanced searching for #tags and keywords within notes across web and mobile.
HOW TO USE
Over time, on the web and mobile apps, you will build up a large note list for your client. We've designed this feature with the ability to add tags from the start to streamline search and filtering, so adding advanced search completes this workflow. When using search you can type in specific words or tags and the notes list will immediately filter to match. Examples to search could include:
• Squats - The list will filter to include any tags for squat exercises or anytime you typed out squats in the notes.
• #goals - The list will filter to include all notes with the tag #goals.
Please feel free to try this on the floor with your clients and when writing programs for clients on web. We look forward to your feedback!

NEW FEATURE
We've added the ability, across web and mobile, for a trainer to take notes during and outside of workouts.
WHERE
The notes feature is accessed in two places. When you tap into a client profile you will now see a programs AND Notes button on the bottom tab navigation. This is for you to take general notes on your client.
The second location to access this feature is while tracking a workout. Tap the exercise info icon next to an exercise name and you will now view a fourth bottom on the bottom right (farthest right). This is for you to take in-session notes specific to an exercise (explained below).
WHY
The main goal behind this feature addition was to give training teams the ability to have deeper client profiles. Body metrics and exercise data by itself isn't a complete story about what happens between a trainer and their client. Writing down notes before, during, and after programs gives both parties involved context. Why are we doing this? Why is or isn't this working? What can we do to improve the next training cycle? Each component added to the new StrengthPortal Notes feature was designed to help answer these questions. To be specific, here's what StrengthPortal Notes includes:
• Notes can be recorded on web, tablet, and mobile and will instantly sync between the platforms.
• Notes are timestamped so trainers can track their note history.
• Notes can be clearly titled and labeled with tags. This allows you, as the trainer, to quickly navigate through note categories using different tags that will be created over time. Examples #goals, #injuries, #reports.
• Note tags can ever be more specific due to the ability to add a exercise tag. During a workout session you can add a #backsquat note that will easy to view and access over time. If you have a client who shouldn't lift more than 150 lbs for back squats, for example, that note is accessible in session every single time you do that exercise together.
• A trainer can add text to a note (this one is pretty obvious, but we're going through everything here).
• A trainer can also upload a picture that they just took or from their library.
Overall we're very excited to be adding this feature to our product suite. Thank you for all the feedback that led up to this and please let us know what you think.
