* Hold & Highlight - tap and hold a specific number or pencilmark on the number bar below the puzzle to see all instances of the number in the grid.
* Puzzles Plus subscription for unlimited puzzles

Puzzles Plus Subscription Terms and Details

Puzzles Plus is our optional subscription for Sudoku Of The Day which entitles you to play all of the available Daily and Anytime puzzles as soon as they are available, without in-game adverts or any requirement to earn tokens. Subscribers can also choose to highlight their high scores with a choice of badges.

Subscriptions are available with renewal periods of either monthly or yearly. The price shown is the cost of the renewal, with the saving value for longer subscription periods as a comparison to the monthly option.

After you confirm a subscription, you will have a free trial period of seven days. Your App Store Account will be charged as soon as the free trial is over. If you cancel the subscription at any time before the free trial is over, you will not be billed.

The subscriptions are automatically renewing, and you will be charged again at the end of your current subscription period. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you turn this off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

The renewal cost will be the same for each subscription period, and will be charged within the 24 hours before the end of your current subscription.

You can manage the subscriptions at any time by going to the Account Settings in the Settings App after purchase. There are options to either change to a different renewal period (which will be at a different price) or to cancel your subscription completely.

If you cancel the renewal you will still have access to the Puzzles Plus features until the full subscription period is complete. If you confirm the purchase of a subscription before the free trial is complete, any unused portion of the free trial will be lost.

Best Implementation

I have enjoyed this version from Astraware for over 5 years. While getting the game for someone else I noticed there were only 2 reviews and they were both bad, so I’m adding mine. The interface is clean. Row and column highlighting adds to it. There are options for pencil marks (selecting possible numbers). I like the option to automatically remove pencil marks of the same number in the same row, column or square when I select input the correct number. I’ve purchased the game so I don’t get any adds, and I’ve never had any problems with losing my purchase and getting adds again. I haven’t tried all the available implementations of sudoku (there’s a gizillion of them), but I tried more than a few before I came across this one and that’s when my search ended.

What happened?

I’ve been playing this game for years and play the daily puzzles almost every day. The last few days, though, the daily puzzles don’t load. Why? My internet is fine, so it’s not that. Why won’t these puzzles load?

Well this was once fun.

Had this for years. It was clearly on autopilot. After years with no substantive changes an update happens, gone was the fairly clean graphics, but all of a sudden, it requires a subscription, or only allows a few games/day (I had paid for ad free, a one time charge, years back)

Best way to do Sudokus

Astraware is responsible for my addiction to Sodukos. They have the most user friendly interface I have used. The pencil marks are simple to use, especially on the iPad where each number has an assigned location. I can very quickly assess the number status by observing the pencil mark patterns. I also love the ability to be timed and compare my times with other players. It gives me an opportunity to evaluate how I am doing.
I started using Astraware Sudoku years ago on my Palm Pilot. This was the first app I looked for when I received my iPad years ago.

Good app

However I was at first elated when I saw the notepad thinking I could make strings and loops, underline some candidates, uncover patterns etc. But after returning to the puzzle all the notes are lost! Very disappointing!

Latest update is annoying

You have to log in with your Apple ID every day if you have paid for no ads. The messaging system doesn’t work. Very frustrating

Lots of options - great game

I have tried out several versions of Sudoku apps and this one gives the most satisfying game play. There is real difference between the levels and the option to enter your own puzzle works well. The user interface on a couple other apps is better but this is only slightly slower than pen on paper and like just about all other Sudoku apps.
The best thing is that this game is the best in terms of logic and playability.
Now, to fix the pencil marks.
