Awesome app with easy entry into crypto
I have been waiting for an app like this for a long time and so glad it’s finally here. You earn $LOCAL crypto when you check into places and you can even become the mayor of an city or business and earn more when others check in. It’s been great to see pictures of all the places my friends and I have been checking in at around the world! Makes me feel like I am along for their ride!

15 of the exact same, unrelated notification within 3 hours
App has a cool basis. Has some spelling errors here and there and not many users. Collecting fruit, gathering badges & mayorships (what even is a mayorship? it’s not explained) and spamming people with emojis is kind of a scattered aim. My biggest complaint is the “at a coffee shop? don’t forget to check in here” notification. I swear, it seems i get one of these notifications every 10 minutes. i have looked in the app settings and in my iphone settings to disable this notification and you cannot. every time my phone vibrates, it’s another of the SAME notification. i have not moved anywhere. i am definitely not at a coffee shop. please make it stop. deleting this app until someone makes it more professional.

Really enjoy the app, found some major problems
I really enjoy the app and the concept it brings to the table, however, I have run into the problem of some of my progress being deleted whenever I get back onto the app (places I have been before are rehighlighted blue). I have also had the problem of understanding the checkin feature as well as the whole crypto aspect of the app. I think an introduction would definitely help as well as the progress loss bug being fixed, other than that, I love this app.
UPDATE: The app consistently deletes all of your progress. I travelled 10 miles with the app open, which it tracked, then I closed the app and reopened it later and my progress has been completely restarted. This needs fixed ASAP

almost zenly… but not quite
i was a regular zenly user and super bummed when it died. Superlocal has very good potential to be what zenly was but several things need to be sorted out. the app is super buggy with little things like profile updates not saving/changing, and the ‘footprint’ feature not working unless the app is open. one thing that i hope gets fixed is the footprints being visible on the map when you zoom out. on zenly i could zoom out and see exactly where i was everywhere in the state. also would show “night places” and my popular visits. hope Superlocal can get things worked out to be as awesome as zenly was!

Needs option for prior travels
I am disappointed that there are no ways to add locations you’ve been prior to downloading the app. I just came back from a 2 week European tour and would have loved to have this app then. A suggestion would be to add a feature that allows you to submit photo evidence of you in a location to be verified for a check-in. Apple photos keeps track of the specific time and location of each photo taken, so this should be pretty easy. That way, travelers and adventurers like myself can use this to keep track and log their past travels

Great app, some issues.
i love the idea of this app SO very much, but i have had some issues. for starters i don’t have very many mutual friends so i would like to get the huge pop up off my screen, another thing is that when i open the app i’ve lost a couple hundred fruit, and i don’t get map progress unless my app is open but i have background processing on and location always on. Also it turns out when you do add somebody and then unfollow them all their posts stay in your feed. hopefully these bugs get fixed for better improvement. Thanks!

great idea - terribly broken
This app is clever. It incorporates some of the best features of other social media platforms (streaks, be real type photos, location check in), but the main premise of the app is to track locations you’ve visited. the app will not work in the background even with all permissions for location access enabled. Even when the app is open, it rarely monitors distance. When it does, it’s laughably incorrect. I used my odometer to test it. For every 1 mile i drove in my car, the app gave me credit for .5 miles). Then after a trip, only a fraction (i drove 190 miles and got credit for 13) saves. Great idea for an app that I’d love to use but it needs to work!!

On paper its a good idea how you can see where youve been and stuff to see new places near you and explore or meet new people but teh way its made doesnt fullfill what it should be, the part of seeing where youve been is fine but when i got in to the app for teh first time it there were so many tutorials and uneeded things to do and check off. For example i wanted to see the map but im required to friend 3 people first and couldnt care less about making friends on here. Overall good comcept just way too many thing to do and have. Maybe make less popups/tutorials so new people can figure some stuff out on their own

Has potential
The major issue I’m finding is that it doesn’t properly track distance covered, which is the whole point of the app. I find it to be about 1/3-1/4 sht of the actual distance. I am riding a train to work, put into Google the distance between both stations and the app is well short of that distance. I would have been more open to the app and using it further, but if the main reason of using the app isn’t measuring properly, I don’t really see a point. This would have been a cool idea if properly executed.

Only worth it for premium version
This app would be awesome if you could have it map out when your phone is locked in the free version, but you can’t and you have to pay for the monthly subscription to access that. I understand trying to make money, but the only way I see this app growing is by making that feature included in the free version then just offering special and cool features for the monthly subscription. As soon as I realized I had to pay for the app to generate my map while my phone is locked or off the app I immediately deleted the app.
