TB Flowtones Virtual Analog Synthesizer and AUv3 / IAA plug-in
Thanks to it's true VA synthesis engine, the use of analog-modelled non-linear filters and extensive modulation options, Flowtones sounds warmer and more analog than digital romplers and wavetable-based synths.
TB Flowtones comes as stand-alone app (with IAA support) as well as AUv3/ IAA plugin.
True virtual analog synthesis features:
- 4 VCO architecture (two voice layers with two VCOs each)
- 4 synthesis engine types, in part modelled after famous analog synthesisers
- 36 analog VCO waveforms featuring all classic waveforms and more
- All VCO waveforms support pulse width modulation
- Full stereo and mono unison modes for each VCO independently
- Noise and subharmonic oscillators for each VCO
- Unique ring and self-modulation matrix
- High-quality, warm, non-linear filters (VCF) with over 30 filter types, including unique multi-resonance filters

One of the best-sounding cross-platform synths you can afford
This synth has amazing potential. The waveforms, oscillator features, ring modulation, filters, and fx are amazing! Even the formant filter so fun to use, and the modulation routings are extensive. Other than the lack of sync options, it sounds very close to my Novation Nova. I can’t wait to see what will be in the next update. I would love to modulate the LFO speed with the envelopes, and there need to be waveforms based on oscillator sync. Ring modulation between layers and serial filter routings would also be appreciated. ToneBoosters is one of the best app developers period!

This is my new favorite synth by light years. These TB developers are so smart, so forward thinking. You guys really did a great job on this synth and it sounds so beautiful, interesting and it’s super versatile once you wrap your head around the workflow. 10 stars.

Better after diving in a bit…
…and extensively tweaking some presets. Rolled a few sound of my own and am starting to warm up to it. All of the harsh, blipity, digital crunchy presets are just not my cup o’ tea, I guess. But even those sounds are easily manipulated into something more my tastes with simple envelope and filter tweaks. The unison knob is just too tempting…really fattens it up. The UI is pretty friendly and easy to navigate. Quite nice effects. Formant bit is a blast.

You need to make the Black Keys shorter so we can have more space on the white keys especially in the middle where the Apple slide up bar is.

Another fine Toneboosters app
Loving the sounds you can get with this beast! One thing can you add a way to have favorite patches or a rating option? Didn’t see this anywhere with my initial play around.

Just purchased and it’s now a staple of my synthesizer rack… I’m hoping future versions will include midi learn for mapping the controls, but love the sound and versatility.. well done!
