2.62.2
2023-07-12
We continue to refine connectivity monitoring and reconnecting after network instability. Our supporter's now need to sign out before being able to make a call through the app.
2.56.0
2023-03-20
We have made some pretty great changes, inside and out. New logo, rescue plan process, supporter recent calls log and more. Streamlined settings and supporter login. Enhanced security, stability and reliability. Improved wifi and cellular connectivity messaging and the squashing of too many bugs to name. Stay brave and stay safe.
2.13.9
2022-01-20
Happy 2022, folks! This release makes the app a little nicer to use. The Home and Settings screens now load more quickly and you can now sign out directly from the main menu. There is also a fix for a problem that prevented some supporters from receiving calls. Stay safe.
2.5.5
2021-10-08
We have updated our branding to match our new identity as "The Brave App".
Folks know us as "Brave" and referred to "Be Safe Community" as "The Brave App". For the sake of clarity, we decided to make it our official name.
Nothing else has changed. Same app, same people, same service. Maybe a little extra love.
2.5.3
2021-07-01
This release is all about housecleaning, app style. We removed the debris of duplicate “the’s” hiding in the corners. We polished text in dark mode so it is light and legible for “add rescue plan” and “allow supporter to edit rescue plans.” Lastly, we did a button remodel, changing “Dismiss” to “Ok” for the supporter “rescue operation in-progress” screen.
2.5.2
2021-06-24
This quick release includes a fix for escalating to 911 in Canada and the US.
2.5.0
2021-06-21
Our organisation is “Brave”, but our app was called “Be Safe Community” while often being casually referred to as “The Brave App”.
“Heavens to Betsy!” you say… indeed! So, for the sake of clarity, we decided to change it to “The Brave App“. Officially.
Nothing else has changed. Same app, same people, same service. Maybe a little extra love.
We’ve made some changes to the main menu including showing Sign Out and Become a Supporter as top-level items.
2.3.8
2021-06-01
We are excited to announce that we have added Canada 911 to our existing US 911 services. Also included:

· A slick new, clean interface and so much more…
Don’t use alone, we are here for you.
1.15.69

We hope that you all are keeping safe during these strange times.
This release is short and sweet:
- Minor adjustment after the recent iOS updates to display some of the icons and graphics
- Adding our hotline number to our system outage error screen
Keep checking in though because we have some exciting changes coming up next.
Remember, don't use alone. We are here for you.
1.15.65
2020-10-06
This release is all about announcements. Our automated announcement used to say account names for all status changes during the call. This created some funny and somewhat distracting announcements.
- Updated automated audio and alert screens/banners to say caller and supporter rather than reading out and displaying account names
- Resolved the missing caller initiated "I need help" automated audio announcement
Reduce your risk of overdose by anonymously connecting to support, anytime, anywhere.
1.15.60
2020-08-13
We really appreciate all the feedback that we've had. The overwhelming message has been "fix the bugs" and "make it easier to use". We heard you and have made significant behind-the-scenes changes.
Improvements:
- System stability
- App no longer shows an error when switching between background and foreground
- Ability to change between wifi and cellular during call
- Overdose button has been renamed to Unresponsive
- Over 30 fixes
NEW FEATURE!!! (we are excited about this one)
We've introduced the ability for Supporters to activate the loudspeaker on the Caller's phone. Determining whether a caller is responsive or not can be hard to do remotely. We were worried our callers might have used a headset that was no longer in their ear.
In a future release, the Supporter will be able to sound an alarm on the Caller's phone as well. Watch this space for more updates.
Pssst: What about "make it easier" you ask? We're hard at work on BeSafe 2.0.
Reduce your risk of overdose by connecting with others, remotely.
Be Safe Community app is here to anonymously connect to support; anytime, anywhere.
