This is a very innovative Tarot, a deck that demands some degree of effort from readers. Each card relates to an entire fairy tale, keyed to the meanings of the Tarot. You will recognize many tales, like Three Little Pigs, Rapunzel, and Snow White. And you will learn new tales, drawn from Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Native America.
Many of the Major Arcana are renamed in a fairy tale manner, such as Innocence for The Fool, The Fairy Godmother for The Empress, and Happily Ever After for The World. The elemental suits are artfully referenced in the Minor Arcana. The characters and plot of each fairy tale subtly convey the traditional meaning of the RWS cards.
This is a very deep and multi-layered Tarot. This deck encourages us to engage the world of fairy tales in a Jungian manner. Lisa Hunt’s art is so lovely that the wisdom and beauty of her writing is sometimes overlooked. Once Upon a Time, the book included in The Fairy Tale Tarot app, could easily stand alone as bedtime reading for children and adults. BRING IT BACK!
I’m not one to write reviews! OR to use apps for my tarot cards!!
But- with this deck being OOP, and me knowing I would absolutely love it. I had to somehow get it! And this was as good I could get! I love it! But touching the cards, I feel I can do a much more personal reading so I am begging this deck creator to please do a reprint on this deck!!
This deck needs to be out there for people to enjoy! The app is great, but for me it will never be the exact same as my cards…. I guess it comes down to a more personal choice.

This is my favorite Tarot deck and my book was ruined. I am so glad this app exists since the book is out of print. The best part of this deck is that an entire story is associated with each card. I feel like this makes it easier to give a reading.

I love Lisa Hunt's artwork. Besides being beautiful, it's very evocative. As a professional Tarot consultant, I love having electronic versions of my favorite decks. If you love fairy tales, you need this deck.

Wonderful Translation from Print to Digital
Lisa Hunt's The Fairy Tale Tarot has been made into a wonderful app by the folks at The Fool's Dog. It is now a hard to find deck in print, so this digital version opens it up to a much wider audience at a great price point. The card art is lovely and you are able to zoom in on fine detail that may not be apparent in the printed version.
As usual, the interface The Fool's Dog creates is user friendly and self explanatory. I love the Card of the Day feature and find all of the other aspects work without a hitch. The "Explore" menu really gives the user a lot of options to get more from this fantastic deck!

More than just a beautiful tarot deck
The deck is beautiful on it's own, but it also includes a full book of fairy tales from around the world. Each card depicts a different fairy tale with themes related to the Rider Waite tradition. When you click on the full text for that card, you get the full fairy tale story that it's from along with the origin and historical background, as well as nicely descriptive means for interpreting the image depicted. I love the format of The Fool's Dog tarot apps. I use the "Today's Card" feature to get my tarot highlight of the day and really get to know the card using the journal feature.
