Why not like it
Not really what I expected but I love kinda fast but REALLY REALLY FUN!
WRS15743,
Awesome quick game!
I just accidentally discovered this game, and I love it! It’s perfect for when you want to play something quick when you have a minute here and there. The art/design is really cool, and the UI is easy/intuitive. And I’m finding the game, though simple to learn and easy to play, challenging in a way I didn’t expect. As things speed up, it’s surprising how your mind has to adjust to making faster decisions. It’s strangely addictive. I appreciate the fair price with no ads or IAP. I also like the sense of progression in the game. Even if you just play a little, you’re always making progress, and everything is saved. Thank you, developers, this is a great game!
hydracloricacid,
Great MOBILE Game
The people who write negative reviews of this app are forgetting one thing: this is a mobile device.

Considering that this is a $1 app on a mobile device, here's why this game is great:
-Simplistic gameplay that requires development of the ability to quickly focus on multiple things at once
-Very easy to control; there are two options (swipes): buy or short, and game modifiers (pills, phone call, stock tip, etc.)
-Beautiful graphics (reminiscent of classics) and a fairly intoxicating score (mostly from the title screen)

Here's why people are feel misled:
-This game could have been an awesome trading simulation if it were slightly more complex, however, to even be a realistic simulation, you'd eliminate a significant number of buyers, who simply don't care or don't understand what they'd be looking at
-Instead, what we've received is simply an addictive time waster, much like flappy bird, except that this app probably took one or two hundred hours to produce

My verdict:
-If you've got a spare buck, it's definitely worth paying for; if you're living paycheck to paycheck, (first, why do you have an iphone, get rid of your data plan) then it's a pass
Other Silhouette,
Why the hate?
The reason this app has three stars is because a bunch of people misinterpreted this game as a kind of simulation game where you build your own business; sorry, but its your fault. Nowhere in the description does it say anything about simulation. It says that you can rise up and become rich, but the fact that they mentioned "twitchy gameplay" before that should have triggered something in your brain that this is obviously not what you wanted.

Anyway, in my opinion, The Firm is great. Its an extremely fast-paced game about buying or not buying stocks. When you lose, you can buy power ups to help you in the next try. The whole thing is very fun, and while a single gameplay may not last long, you always have next time to look forward to. At its current price of a dollar (and at its future price of two) I highly recommend it as it is very fun and replayable.
C. Fidalgo,
If Papers Please we're on iOS but not as fun
The Firm brings the simulated stress of actually working to your device at an unreasonable cost.

Whereas other life simulations like Papers Please manage to tow the line of stressful fun with lengthier play sessions, The Firm, as per its platform, has to distill the experience into a much shorter period of time. The faster play sessions end up resulting in something painful and stressful on the brain rather than something purely engaging and fun--you're really doing work during The Firm, and it's not that fun.

Ultimately, the mental pain is what prevents The Firm from being something more. The game only raises the stress as you're promoted, rather than lessening your mental burden (which would be more akin to reality as a social critique and probably more fun). The Firm would do better if they cut the stack build up time in half and gave you more power as the stakes are raise, since the money making part is what's fun.

The last issue is the price. This is not a 1.99 purchase, a .99 cent purchase, or a paid purchase at all--from a quality perspective in terms of art, the price is justified, but the amount of content is comparable to Sky Burger. Players and the company would do better to convert the game to a F2P game with purchasable power ups.

If you want something mentally challenging, as fun as real work, and to pay for it, The Firm is a game for you.
Zombie Bat,
Read reviews and description completely before buying
I bought the game and thought it was something completely different than it was. I just now after I bought the game read the reviews were a lot of people are rating it high and complying about all the people like me who thought it was a stock som game. They say things like it didn't ever say it was a sim game or you should have done some research on it etc. but what I have to say to them is did it ever say that all you do is swipe left or right or did it show gameplay in the pictures and by the description how can you tell that it's not a sim game? 😠it doesn't make it obvious that it's that type of game where you repeat something over and over. I'm not usually he type of person that types bad reviews or complains but they are making clear statements and your saying that they're dumb and wrong for thinking that. 😡
CinnamonTwirl,
One of my favorite games to play!
I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this game as I didn't expect it's atmosphere to be anything special. The graphics and music fit very well into the game and I wasn't expecting the incredible amount of detail put into it. I love the way the menu was designed and the little 'swip' of the pages when you turn them.
However I wish it would save your progress mid game as sometimes I need to answer the door or phone while playing and end up losing the progress I have made. Other than that, the game is flawless and it has quickly become the only game I play. I can't wait to see what other games Sunnyside will produce!
Devi Wolf,
Too many bad reviews! It's a good game!
Goes from near impossible to hard to somewhat hard as you get better at it but highly gratifying once you're on a roll. Okay too many people don't like the stress of thinking and reacting quickly and are giving this "challenging!" game meant for causing peoples brains to differentiate at a high rate of speed a bad name.

It's something I've seen in IQ tests. It is hard yes but learning to play it and getting good is the point. NO ONE is going to be good at it right off the bat.

Give it a chance and keep at it for a little while... It IS a good game and well worth 1$
That guy :^#-|--<,
SOO MUCH POTENTIAL!
Like every one els, I thought this game was gunna be a stock sim type thing. I don't know if you have herd about it, but I thought this game was gunna be a steam game calls "Papers Please" Unfortunately it's not. If you want a decent arcade game with some nice looks, THEN THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU, but if you are like me and you want a puzzle sim type game, this isn't the game for you. When you actually get past the image of the game you wanted, this is a pretty fun and satisfying game, but this games biggest problem is you can't get past that image. If you got this game looking for something it's not, i fell you, but at lest try to accept it for what it is. And keep you're hopes up people, that game that we want may come out some day.
Who knows who...,
There's a reason for negative reviews
Most negative reviews such as mine come from people who expected a little more depth from the game. Sure the description does not promise any strategy. But if u really want to put out a game based on fast reflex, name it something like dimple run or crappy bird. When u name it as the firm and put pictures of stock prices, u attract a certain kind of audience who expect some substance and completely loose audience who will indeed enjoy this kind of game. Swipe left and right at stock prices?!? Common. I would rather swipe left and right at ice creams or running chickens or racing cars or something fun like that...
