Insurances - When you invest in luxury goods, you can now insure your investment
Business costs - Running a business costs money, for instance to pay for ships, warehouses, or staff. Costs rise with turnover.
Transaction costs - Like all merchants you devote part of your money to public display. The bigger your net income, the more you spend on coaches, fancy art, and other luxuries.
The underlying data has been tweaked to create a better and more realistic experience.

Needs work
This looked like a great idea for a game. But there are bugs. The game doesn't remember me and it gets stuck at certain points. If these are fixed, I would play it more often.
