The Grove is 148 acres of ecologically diverse prairie grove land preserved and maintained by the Glenview Park District. Settled by the Kennicott Family in 1836, The Grove was once home to Robert Kennicott, Illinois’ first naturalist. The Grove was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. It is on National Registry of Historic Places and is a partner with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Chicago Wilderness.
