Description

Child developmental milestones from 18 months to 8 years. Older milestones will be added as they are ready. These are the child developmental milestones as found at The Observant Mom website but now in calendar form!

These milestones are the notorious “stages” or “phases” that children go through. These are those times when children “act up,” but it’s because new skills are emerging. This work documents both what the irritating behavior is and what the new skills are. Simply enter your child’s due date into the app, and a calendar is generated with their expected developmental milestones. Simply click on any colored date and get instant information about your child! Add as many children as you want. Add as many children as you want.

Countless have said that this work helps them stay patient as a parent or caregiver. Be sure to share this information with family and friends.

C.Kolich,
Don’t get this for newborns 😂
Edit: I did hear back and learned the app covers 18 months - 5 years. Whoops! I did not read the details when purchasing, I just went off of fellow mom reviews. Thankfully, there is a ton of helpful info my almost 3-year old - and on her worst days, I can look at her calendar and see what’s going on.

I can’t see anything for our youngest! He is 2.5 months old, and his calendar is blank. I reached out via email, but never heard back.

Keeping Parents Sane One Day at a Time
Developmental leaps can absolutely wreck a parent’s day. Knowing when they are coming, what fun new skills will be on the other side of it, and knowing that it will end absolutely saved my sanity! I was so thankful when I found The Observant Mom’s site, and while I recommended it to many it was a little cumbersome to get the information I needed. I LOVE THE APP! I’ve already recommended it to several friends who have purchased it as well. I’m desperately hoping the 4 year old milestones will come out before my son’s birthday in August!!

One thing I wish it had is recommendations for how to handle the intense periods. It was helpful to know that a major accident was likely to happen (and it did, literally the day I read that), but it also would be helpful to have notes on how to help them process the new skills that they’re learning.

Even without that information, I still think EVERY parent of toddlers NEEDS this app!

Life Changing App for toddlers+
I once was an avid Pinterest user pre-baby. I came across Amber’s milestone info and pinned it. Months later when I was curious about developmental leaps and milestones, I began reading her detailed and copious notes that aligned with my toddler’s behavior. I found it so helpful. I then printed it and put it in a binder for reference (and began marking the calendar accordingly). I shared with friends. Then one day my mom friend said “she has an app!” Now I have both my kids in the app and I can see whats going on…and almost every time we are in the RED/INTENSE phase and I find peace in know I’m not crazy. Amber is SO SPOT ON with her behavioral assessments it’s mind blowing. I tell everyone about this app. I think I have 5+ friends using it. Get the app! Money well spent!

Bridges the Gap for Developmental Understanding
There’s so much about being a parent that is unknown. There was a lot that I didn’t understand about my children’s behavior until I started reading content from The Observant Mom. It helps to know areas where my kids need extra support and ways I can help facilitate their growth in different areas. Honestly, this app has helped a lot with taking away anxiety about different developmental phases. I’m grateful! If you’re a parent, caregiver, childcare worker, or interact with young kids regularly this app is more than worth it!
Kitty1600,
Love this app!
I periodically check the website when I feel my toddler (…and myself) are having some growing pains. It definitely puts my mind at ease to know it is all perfectly normal and healthy. I went to the site today and saw they had an app! I bought the app immediately and love it even more since it gives you day to week tracking of where your child’s at. Apps are just much more convenient also.

Invaluable app for parents!
I love this app! I had followed my sons child development milestones and sleep patterns/behaviors very closely as an infant. This app along with Amber Dombrowzki’s accompanying books have been such an invaluable help as my son continues to grow. His behavior development patterns very closely follow her research. It has helped me make the most of these often frustrating developmentally emotional growth spurts. This app will help you develop much more insight, understanding and patience.
MaYulan,
Fills a hole in the market! Toddler and older child milestones
For those who experience a cliff of understanding when other baby milestone and development leap guides end at 18months this fills the void. It’s much more detailed and really helps me understand my child. Sometimes the skills and examples are very specific and don’t seem to match what is going on with my child but the descriptions are such that I can see what his version is.

Pretty Decent App
After the bugs were worked out of the initial app release, it’s a pretty decent app. Some pieces of the calendar are a little confusing (green color for irritable period and red dot above current date box).
Overall decent app and much more functional and optimized compared to the website.

Great resource
I was so happy when a friend referred me to this series. I loved “The Wonder Weeks” book since my son was an infant so I was happy to find this when he aged out of their research/work. Always amazed at how accurate it is when checking what’s going on with my 4 year old. Thanks for the work you do!!
hopecarey,
So Helpful!
I’m so grateful to finally see an app to keep track of the developmental leaps following the Wonder Weeks ages. The only one improvement I would suggest is to change the marker for the current day to a different color(without a red dot above it). It can be misleading thinking everyday is an “intense” day 🤣
