Description

Episode Two now available, the final chapter in this award winning adventure.

The Silent Age takes you on an adventurous journey into a dystopian future where mankind has gone extinct!

Travel through time between the iconic 70's and a desolate present day haunted by silence.

The Silent Age is an atmospheric point-and-click adventure game with stylized visuals and an eerie soundtrack that will keep you in suspense as you solve mind-bending puzzles.

With an interface specifically designed for touch devices, you'll flow through the story without hiccups and frustrations. Sit back, plug in your headphones, and enjoy the adventure.

Background Story -------------------------------------------------

It’s 1972. Love is free. Flipflops, English leather and bandanas are the height of fashion. Meanwhile the Cold War is more than lukewarm and a real one is going on overseas. Movements are happening. Environmentalists, the female liberties movement, and on the dance floors an entirely different kind of movement is overtaking the underground clubs. The winds of change are certainly blowing over the country.

Somewhere in the big city, in a tall, faceless government building someone left a window open. All the winds of change are doing here is blowing leaves all over Joe’s newly-swept floor. He’s been there for two years now. Working a dead-end attendant job making sure the building is as spotless as the suits walking the halls. It’s been like this for years, going from one soul-devouring job to the next.

Our protagonist is Joe in more than just name. He is quite literally Joe Average. Average height, average weight, average IQ. In fact, the only thing remotely remarkable about him is exactly how much he conforms to the median of the hypothetical everyman, and up until this point, Joe’s life hasn't exactly been biography material.

This is all about to change...

UnicornQueen183,
Best mobile puzzle game
Honestly, I loved this game inside and out. I like all the hidden clues and tiny details you can find throughout the game to give you ideas behind the story. I loved the big plot twist at the end, and most of all, I loved the puzzles you had to solve while trying to progress with the story. Well, I had a love-hate relationship with the puzzles cause sometimes I'd be baffled as to what I had to do next. However, that added on to the fun this game gives you and it's great that they don't hold your hand and walk you through the game, like most games do!
Once again, I loved this game and I purchased the second episode, and let me tell you, it was well worth it! I just finished my second playthrough with this game--after not playing it in a while-- and it was great going through all the emotions and shocking parts this game holds all over again!
I seriously recommend this game! And don't hesitate to buy the second episode cause that plot twist....it's something I totally didn't expect. ❤️👏🏻🙌🏻👍🏻
Dresselll,
"Retro" adventure games are back in style
Great game, if not necessarily on par with some of the old-school classics when the genre was being perfected (Zork, Maniac Mansion, et al). The puzzles in Silent Age are difficult enough to be rewarding, although most familiar with the genre will not "get stuck" or struggle too much to get through these levels. Much of the lack of difficulty has to do with the merciful lack of "red herring" items and "dead end" areas that don't do anything to advance the game. Adding a few more of these would have extended the game while highlighting the cleverness of the puzzles. Still, I enjoyed greatly how the puzzle solutions were not overly contrived unlike many other adventure games (you will never have to try picking a lock with an apple core!), such that the solutions could be visualized in a real-world setting. The time-travel element added much to the game, even though it's been done before (Day of the Tentacle, et al). I also enjoyed the clean graphics, smooth game play, compelling plot and clever writing as well, although the ending seemed to be a bit of an afterthought, and was ultimately anticlimactic. That said, I would definitely purchase the sequel. Thanks, developers, for an enjoyable few hours of entertainment!
Leafz🍃,
Wish I could have the full experience.
This game was a whole MIX of emotions and that’s the reason why I love it! It’s humorous, scary and much more it really makes you feel like your there. The designs of the game is very fitting and I love the backstory and the main character, the characters don’t act like some lifeless robot they all have their own personalities and traits which is why this game is unique. But of course all things come with a price sadly… It just honestly felt so short? The gameplay was fun and I loved solving the puzzles and putting everything together as it all unravels and slowly makes more sense but it all just flashed by! It was maybe like an hour of gameplay which honestly isn’t that long if you have a lot of spare free time and it made just game me the feelings of being unsatisfied as how short the free bits of the game was. I have also read some other ratings and it seems that if you pay for the 2nd chapter it’s basically as short as the 1st chapter which is kind of a waste if your looking for longer gameplay especially if your paying for it. Overall though I think this game is amazing.
Minecraftilogical,
GREAT GAME- But....
This game is excellent. But there are several plot holes that don’t make sense. during the outside archon episode, in the room with the two fans, joe claims that he’d rather not go through the nasty water, yet after you shoot the junction box and get to the elevator, he goes back and forth with pleasure. and how did the tin foil hat get there? lambert didn’t go through the elevator. and since joe met past lambert, shouldn’t future lambert remember meeting him in the past? This would also imply that there are infinite versions of yourself, as joe would get arrested while future joe is watching, yet past joe would end up in the future watching his past self. that could mean all of joes could be in the same timeline. and if joe is constantly talking to lambert, why does the boat keep flooding if we know it’s not raining and there are no holes in it? I know time is a very difficult subject and i don’t expect these to be solved. Great game House on Fire keep it up.
Angel Wise,
Wish there were more games like this
This is a fantastic game. I couldn’t have asked for a better point and click adventure game. Only a few complaints: 1)episode 2 was $4.99, For paying that much I was expecting something way longer. Don’t get me wrong it was a great episode I just feel it’s way overpriced for how short it was. 2) The whole game episodes 1&2 only took me a total of maybe 2hrs to complete. For such a great game and one of the only apps of its type I was wanting it to take me much longer than a couple hours, especially since I paid $5 for it. 3) the last chapter seemed really rushed and some things seemed left out. They could have put way more detail and time to the last chapter.
In all I absolutely love this game and it kind of crushed a bit of my soul that it ended so soon because I was so obsessed with it. I’m going to need more games like this, like right now.
MiniMoo301,
LOVE everything about this game!
And the money was totally worth it! I'd love that you guys will create more games like this. Won't hesitate paying $5 or $6 more. To those who complain that it's too short for $5 worth, try creating a game like this with such solid art, concept, and story, then come back and tell me how much you're gonna charge for a high quality game without any ads. Don't be cheap, especially when the thing you got is actually really good. It's like getting a small painting with high quality and detail for a couple hundreds then complaining that it's too small for the price while disregarding the detail and quality in that painting. I'd rather a short yet solid gameplay then a long dragging boring one with terrible art and constant ads. There are plenty of those games for free, so pick your price and check your own standard.
Vanilla Violet,
Beautiful game! Just a few flaws.
This game is incredibly well animated with a very intriguing plot. The puzzles can get pretty hard! I love this style of game and would love to see more from this developer. My only issues with the game are the contradictions and sometimes the puzzles just make no sense. Joe can get pretty annoying as you try to fiddle items around with other objects, often saying that it was a dumb idea. How was I supposed to know it wasn’t going to work?? I saw another review saying the same thing about the contradictions, such as Joe saying he doesn’t want to go into the sewer water, and then later does so with no hesitation. All in all, however, this game is beautiful and worth the play. But for $5, I wish chapter two was slightly longer :/
Sasil,
Very cool game, but too short for the cost
This is absolutely an incredible game/story. It was engrossing. You can play the first episode for free, then it's $5.99 to keep playing. I assumed that there would be many more episodes, given the cost - which is quite high for an app. There was one more episode, which was as great as the first one - till the end. The end was just sort of abrupt and didn't resolve the storyline. This was the kind of story that could've kept going with more episodes, but the app made it clear that the game was finished. Although I enjoyed the game, I wouldn't have paid $5.99 for just a few hours of game time had I known. Even though the quality of the game is 4 or 5 stars, I'm giving it two stars for charging almost $6 for a few hours of game play, especially since it's not a game that you can play again with different results or anything like that. Perhaps they will decide to continue the story & let us unlock new episodes for $.99 or something. That would make a huge difference.
Decibolic,
Great to play time and again.
First off, I was a huge fan of Myst and Riven. Interactive puzzles that require attention without jarring immediacy. So finding The Silent Age was solid for me. I enjoy the colorful settings and the not-so-obvious clues. The other fun is attempting to do things I know I shouldn’t just to see the responses.
TSA is not a long game. It is easy to set down and pick up later. And that’s what I do. Without being too intense I actually managed to finish chapter 2 in about 3 hours leisurely making my way through it. In about 2 months I will likely play part one again.
Games like this take a good amount of world building and planning, and I know the devs don’t ask for much in return. Though I do hope to find a similar game to play soon.
AriatheWord,
Silent Age liker
So one day I was bored than I ran into this game and I was like "hey maybe I should try this one" so I watched the video and I loved the story plot so I started playing it and I loved it, at some parts I got frustrated that I couldn't complete a puzzle, but then when a completed it I felt relieved that I completed it and I was wondering what would happen next and I never guessed it, then once episode 1 finished I said "Wow the ending of that makes you really want to buy Episode 2 I haven't bought it yet, but I am thinking about it I have read someone's review and the said it was worth it, but we all have our own opinion I loved it though, So if you read this if I were you I would purchase this game, but we all have opinions so just try it to see if you like it.
