The Wild Swans
I bought this book for a student to read. We were enjoying it till it came to the part where the girl is arrested and put in jail till her execution day. My student asked me what execution was. How do you explain that to a young child? Definitely not a book for a preschooler like its promoted. Although the girl saves herself, it's not the kind of book my parents want their children reading nor would I want my grandchildren reading it.
