A DEFINITE FAVORITE!
I’ve been reading the Thought Catalog site for years now and I’m super excited about the app! I love seeing all of the different articles and essays by people that I am always able to relate to in some way...even if it’s just a tiny thing that I’m able to relate to. All of the articles are well written and knowing that I’m not alone in some things that I feel just makes their words that much better. I genuinely appreciate all of the writers or artists, etc involved with Thought Catalog!
overlandtech.aero,
Great articles and short stories, terrible ad scrolling & finding the articles
Too much click bait forced scrolling makes the app unusable if you are looking to get in read your piece and then go back. Medium or Quora are much more stable app platforms. The ads keep stacking up higher in the feed as you scroll down the list of articles which are displayed as tiles. The tiles keep getting buffered out of the screen. The ads are designed to interfere with your scrolling. I’m still looking for the article from the website that prompted the app download, and screen recorded my experience in the app just to have the feedback for any of the app developers. The platform is free but the cost is your time spent sifting through the ad interface. There has to be a better way to make the app work as well as the adverts. There are really good articles (which you have to scroll down past creepy to get to the digital dating and romance authors).

My solicited and uncompensated feedback. You’re welcome.

Disappointed, but hopeful
I downloaded this app yesterday after perusing the site. Let me say, this is an app I want on my phone because, well, it invites me to be thoughtful. As a professional writer, it’s nice being able to find inspirational content from other professionals and have them all in one place. The problem here is the website to app transition isn’t intuitive AT ALL! Like others have stated, the absence of a search bar is almost laughable really. I’m not even able to find the article I was reading when I thought to download the app. Also, there’s no way to favorite any of the articles on the site, either. There’s literally no site to app integration whatsoever. The two are completely independent. I’m sure others would sign up for a membership of sorts just to have the app & site function more seamlessly. Hoping developers take these things into account because I love the concept. I’d much rather spend my idle time reading content of this nature than aimlessly scrolling social media.
DFaul,
Great app for self help!
The content on this app and the website is fantastic and very informative. The only issue I have with the app is that if I leave it for any amount of time (going to a different app or locking my phone) the app screen goes completely white and you can’t navigate anywhere else within it. The only way to “fix” it is to close the app entirely and go back into it. While this is inconvenient, I’m still using it. I just have to find the article I was reading when it happened, which is also inconvenient because there isn’t a search option or a “recently viewed” space. You have to scroll through all the other articles within a topic section.
Again, this isn’t going to prevent me from using the app, I just hope it can be fixed.

Excellent app
For anyone who wants to increase their emotional or social intelligence. Excellent for learning how to be more aware emotionally and mentally. This app makes you feel like you’re not alone and the struggles you’ve went to are relatable-as these articles are written by authors who went through the exact same thing. Great for coping with breakups, deaths, zodiac sign articles, body positivity articles and more. Highly recommend

In LOVE
I started out finding Thought Catalog articles on Pinterest, then eventually found them on Instagram and now this app is HEAVEN. It feels like there are unlimited things to read for every situation and emotion, right there all in one place. Sometimes I feel like it refreshes on its own while I’m scrolling and I lose my place, but other than that I have ZERO complaints. I am obsessed with it!
Princess.sydney!!!,
Life saving (literally)
The last 2 days haven’t been easy and the little reminders help so much. Last night, I almost took my life but I looked on my phone and it was a reminder saying “Thank you for being alive. The world is better because you are in it.” It was like the universe came in lmaoo. But like this is an amazing app and really encourage y’all to download it.
*Alaina*,
Needs Search Feature
The content on Thought Catalog is INCREDIBLE. I can’t stop reading and there seems to be a never ending source to read from. I also love that it’s free. My *only* complaint is that there’s no way to search for specific articles. I found one on their website and wanted to save it but have to scroll for an hour to not even find it on the app.
mamameugh,
love this, but why did they take out the faith topic category?
i love this app! which i found online somewhere, and one big reason was because of the awesome faith related publishings that they had. I noticed a couple days ago that they took that category off and i got so sad. it was one of the best ones, and i hope they put it back soon. that’s why i have it 3 stars, if it was still up i’d be a full 5. i love the other topics, but please think about putting the faith one back!
RescueKJ,
New app is a big improvement!
Enjoying the new app a lot. I can store my favorites now, many of which I refer back to and read again and again (esp. when I need a little pick-me-up or encouraging words). I started reading the Creepy section recently (it’s so good!) and it’s generally easier to find and scroll through just the topics I like now. Yay.
