Description

Time’s Up! is a fun, visual timer that you’ll actually want to use. Whether it’s for you, your kids, or someone else, Time’s Up! will make counting down much more engaging.

Timers can be used at work and at home, whether you’re making sure you take a break or telling kids it’s bedtime.  Timers exist everywhere, but none of them are fun and visually appealing — and that can be important when you’re dealing with kids big and small! Time’s Up! has the features you need to make time fun again!

Time’s Up! isn’t just for kids and workaholics, though. The possibilities are endless:

• Adults who need to set timers to stop them from working for too long without a break.
• Kids who don’t want to do their homework but can be convinced to work in smaller chunks.
• Setting reading or other activity timers before bed time.
• Helping bigger kids focus on an activity for a set amount of time.
• Setting timers for exercises — put Time’s Up! on your TV screen using AirPlay and turn a timer into the focal point for your exercise group.
• Anything that’s based on a specific amount of time!

What makes a timer fun? Time’s Up! has 5 fun styles to choose from, including:

• “Reveal” a photo from your Photo Library as the seconds tick down.
• “Pixelate” makes a photo more clear as a timer gets closer to completion.
• “Puzzle” breaks a photo into jigsaw puzzle pieces and then puts the pieces into their places as time progresses.

Alternatively, there are more traditional clock faces if you just want a simple timer. Timers can be customized with their own alert sound and color, too.

Other key features include:
• Sync your timers between iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV using iCloud.
• Guided Access to prevent kids from switching apps and changing timers, making sure only you have the power to control time.
• Airplay and tvOS support so you can put a timer up on a TV screen.
• Get audio updates each minute or countdown the last 10 seconds.
• On macOS, you can float the timer window above other apps so it’s always visible.

Time’s Up! is a free download with a simple one-time purchase that unlocks the ability to run an unlimited number of timers.

Time’s Up! has no ads or data trackers. We believe your data is your own and we don’t collect any of it.

Tom v1356,
Great Timer for Classroom
I bought this to use in a classroom and like the many options that it offers. Here are my observations:
1. I love the fact that you can change the timer ending sound effect. The waves and twinkle are perfect to use with young kids.
2. I initally was put off by the fact that you have either a two minute or one hour option as a starting point. Of course you can drag the circle to choose different timer lengths but the visual representation of the time is not a complete circle at start. What I then discovered was that you can use the reveal picture option to suit my needs. I simply uploaded a blank white background. I did not want a distracting image but I know other might find it desirable. When you use a picture the visual timer starts as a complete circle based on whatever time you select initially.
3. Color options, audio options for announcing remaining time, voice options all put this app above others that I have used. It really is worth the money and the developer obviously has put in some time and effort to refine it.
4. My only wish is that you could set more than one timer at once. Other timer programs have that option but they come nowhere close to this app in terms of other features.
CharlieRod1,
A good ADHD timer modeled after *the* TimeTimer with nice extra features
The timer works as it should - it stays on top, it's visual (which is critical), the alarms keep ringing once they set off, so you must act on them (which is desirable) and the feature in which a puzzle increasingly gets resolved as time passes is very, very nice. (Now I need nice pictures to look at!)

As someone w/ADHD, I appreciate the no-gimmicks approach this app takes. I don't need a "jack of all trades" app that will overwhelm me, nor an app with a prescriptive approach that works for the author (or for neurotypical folks) but not for me. (Those abound, huh? Apps designed by neurotypical folks for what they think the ADHD works like.)

Anyhow, great app! Happy to have paid!
Pastor 12,
Awesome App
I've been using the "pomodoro" method for a while to stay focused on my work. I'm so glad I found this app. It's very well designed and well-worth the price for the "unlimited" full version. I love how it syncs everything across Mac and iOS. It is made with a very close attention to detail.

Also, I emailed support a question about the Mac icon, and the developer wrote me personally to explain why there's no option to natively change the icon on Mac. But he also went the extra mile to tell me how to set up my own custom icon, which looks great. Buy the app!
Niknak92748,
Don't know how I'd do my work without this
As someone with ADHD, this has got to be one of my most-used productivity tools. I love how simple the functionality is, and the developer's recent improvements have made it even more user-friendly. I think it's well worth the $5 fee.

If I could make one suggestion, it would be nice to have a toolbar icon on macOS to bring up the timer, possibly updating with the filledness of the timer as it ticks down.
New appuser,
The timer looks great, but it needs more options
I would like to customize the timer further. I don't want to wait until the last 5 seconds to hear a chime. I also don't want annoying repetitve announcements for a full minute. I'd like to be able to choose how many bells I hear, at the increments that I want... (ie one bell every 10 mins, if I set an hour timer). Or I'd like an auto repeat option that I don' thave to manually reset (repeating the timer cycle every hour by itself). Great timer but would appreciate some updated options. Thansk a bunch
appmar7,
Great visuals, but too resource intensive
It uses way too much CPU when it's running — starts at 25% or so, and sometimes grows to 50% or 60% (Apple M1). Using App Tamer forces it to stay around 2-3%, but at the cost of it becoming visually laggy and slow to respond. It shouldn't take 30%-60% CPU to update a timer. Even though there's the blur in the overlay, turning it off to use the opaque window doesn't change the CPU. GPU is not being utilized at all.

Despite that, it's still worth it and useful if you use App Tamer. And, it looks sleek, minimalistic, and just perfect.
Mcbdale,
So helpful for writers
I do writing sprints of 20 minutes and 5 minute breaks and this visual is a perfect way to let me stay on track. It's simple design (but flexible options) has me using it again and again on all my Apple products. I almost bought a physical timer like this before looking at the app store, but I'm glad I didn't becuas this was way cheaper and it doesn't take up extra space on my desk. I love it!
Chai-Spiced Banana Bread,
My kid loves it! 😎
My three-year-old loves this app! It gets him to clean up his toys faster. I also use it to let him know when it is time to leave the park.

He enjoys picking the color of the smiley clockface. But his favorite is watching his own face slowly appear on the screen. Because what could possibly be better than a picture of himself?! 🤣

Two thumbs up from this mom!
sarrfish,
Perfect visual timer!
I’m an adult using this app to focus my work time and lessen my distractions. I LOVE the way you can customize it. That was missing from all the other visual timer apps I looked at. I was happy to pay the one-time fee to upgrade. It’s a very reasonable amount and I’m thrilled to support an individual’s hard work!
clockworkblue,
It's a good, aesthetically pleasing basic timer.
I like the fact that it can float on top of my windows as a round widget (as opposed to a rectangular window), be resized. I would like the ability to set a countdown to a specific time, or set an interval longer than 1hr, but I understand that would dilute the quality and be outside the scope and purpose of what this thing is designed for.
