Description
The companion app for the Toitoi: Latin America Special Issue showcases stories, poems and art about the vibrant cultures of Latin America produced by young New Zealanders. All the written pieces have been translated into languages of the region, creating a multilingual app in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
The app features interactive text and audio features that allows readers to listen to the stories and poems in translation, tap to hear individual words and spellings and even record their own narration.
The journal, app and additional digital resources were commissioned by the Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPE), in partnership with Toitoi Media and the School of Languages and Cultures at Victoria University of Wellington.
The writing and artwork is accompanied by teacher support materials chock-full of ideas for exploring the languages and cultures of Southeast Asia and Latin America. Additional digital resources are also available on the Toitoi website.
