The best
01/20 ETA: I recently finished my treatment & have received my retainers. It would be great to see added functionality and/or notifications to specifically track retainer wear. I plan to continue using this app on my journey to “only needing to wear my retainers at night” & to help retain my new smile 😃
This is the best app if you’re going through Invisalign (or similar) treatment! This has made the entire experience less stressful because I don’t have to worry about manually calculating hours or whatever the equivalent would be. The progress photo feature is great. For me, this has been just as important as chewies in making sure I stay on track with my treatment. My orthodontist is a top 1% provider and the entire office has been so elated with my progress. I’m going to be finishing treatment ahead of schedule & I really couldn’t have done it without this app! I know I must sound like a shill, but I’m just very thankful for this app. I’ll also note that when a bug made the app unusable for me, it was fixed within hours! Thank you so much TrayMinder!! 😊

Love love love
So easy to use. I like the visuals better than the Invisalign app. More features too. DEFINITELY get the Apple watch add on. OMG it’s so convenient. Put the app on your Apple watch face, click the Wearing button, and it starts timing. When you’re done, do it again and and the timer stops. It all syncs to the app on your phone through iCloud. Sooooooo easy. I debated whether it was worth keeping track of all this on and off time but the app keeps you honest and on track. You can take “teethies” and have a nice visual log of your progress. There’s also a quick link to all the helpful videos. This thing is so well thought out.
UPDATE: I am still absolutely loving this app. I have really come to appreciate it because as I got used to wearing aligners, I sometimes forget I have them on — and off. The reminder for when you take them off (I set at 30 minutes) is great. It will just keep reminding you if you go over or forget. I love this app.

Wayyyyy better than MyInvisalign app
I started with the MyInvisalign app as soon as I got my trays. I started looking for other apps within a few days because it just did not feel like it was as functional as an app should be. I decided to give TrayMinder a try. It is not just a little better , it is WAY better. MyInvisalign has the reminders set at specific intervals 15, 30, 45 mins, then I believe half hour intervals after 1 hour. I love that TrayMinder has the quick select options for common choices, but also the scrolling option if you want to ale it some odd time, like 12 minutes. I also appreciate the text reminders with the emoji 😬 if I’ve overshot and haven’t stopped the timer indicating I have put them back in. Nice summary chart of how long I wore my trays too.
MyInvisalign doesn’t even come close to the functionality of Tray Minder. Save yourself the trouble and just download this one instead. 😉

Mostly great, missing multi device sync option
This makes it really easy to track wear time and give stats across time. I appreciate the reminder option for when you take your trays out, as I sometimes don’t realize I’ve had them out for awhile, or just get distracted. One note, and I see it in another review: it took me a long time to figure out how to adjust the goal wear time from the default 20 hours. (It’s in settings under the totally-not-intuitively-named “adjust color codes”)
The one feature that would get the app to 5 stars for me is the ability to sync across devices. I usually have my iPad out at home so have been using that as my main device, but when I’m out and about (not that often right now given the pandemic, but in normal times, often) have my iPhone. I’ve tried the “backup device to cloud” and “restore from cloud” options to transfer, but a) it’s super buggy - it did not correctly pull in all my most recent data, and b) even if that worked, that’s a very clunky way to move between devices.

Tray one and this app is great!
I am almost done with tray one and looked at a few apps before settling on this one to aid me in my Invisalign journey. I love that the app links to my watch, I am a nurse and am running around all day and meal times are never a set time or a set length, being able to use my watch to pause and start when o am taking out or putting in my trays has been essential in making sure I’m wearing them enough to be therapeutic. The photographer is great too and really zooms in on just your teeth which wasn’t available on other apps. Can’t wait till I’m done with tray 12 but know I will be using this app throughout the. Next 6 months of my treatment. Well worth the few dollars to have access to this tool

Good, but could be more robust
I’m currently working through a treatment that only requires 10 hours of straight wear overnight. This app is really geared toward traditional aligners that are worn nearly the entire day/night. It would be nice if there was an accommodation for this type of aligner treatment (single wear duration vs daily hour total, daily reminders at specific times vs a timer after you’ve removed aligners and effectively “paused” the counter), but one can make due with the current functionality, a little addition and an external manual alarm.
However, one feature that could (and should) be adjusted is the Calendar Color Codes. The red color is currently limited to a lower limit of 12 hours - that is more than my total treatment time per day! Considering this is an arbitrary integer, it would be nice if this limit was decreased to accommodate alternative treatments that aren’t geared toward all-day wear.

Bought the Apple watch and interface doesn't work
Although the free app does its job with the photographs and time tracking, I was very disappointed with the Apple watch extension. Sometimes when there are iOS updates, the app doesn't actually clock in and out accurately. For example, I would click stop on the Apple watch and start when I put my trays in, only to notice on my phone app that it didn't register. Also the interface on the Apple watch when the trayminder is in the middle, doesn't reflect the accurate information of the time that the trays have been out during the day. However it does show actually on the app. For some odd reason on my Apple watch, when I have it show in the bottom, the circle always shows 17, which I have no idea what that means. So although the free app works great, the Apple watch software is unfortunately not accurate and inconvenient (although it's supposed to be). Please fix these issues and I'm sure more people will be more willing to pay the extra $2.

Sync Issues Between Devices
I’ve been using this app since October 2020 for my Invisalign, and it’s been a huge help and I’ve really appreciated this app.
However, I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and ever since this app has been so buggy, it’s become a lot less useful.
If I tell my watch I took off my aligners, it gives me the reminders correctly. But when I tell it I’m wearing them again, the reminders don’t stop. For hours I’m plagued with “did you forget to start the timer?” on both my phone and watch, even though both show I’m wearing my aligners currently. It almost has a “boy who cried wolf” effect where the notifications don’t phase me because of their frequency and I’ve actually forgotten to say I’m wearing my aligners again because I’m so used to the notifications being wrong.
I also sometimes have an issue where when I go to mark that I’m wearing my aligners again, it will change the “time out” to whatever the current time of day is, so instead of 15 minutes out it will show 7:28, like I’ve had the aligners out since midnight. This never used to happen until I connected my Apple Watch.
When the app works, it’s incredible. But the syncing issues have almost ruined its effectiveness for me and it’s much less trustworthy.

Great simple app does what is expected
*Update* (4/5) My earlier battery issue was quickly resolved! As with anything, there are things that could be improved, but this app does exactly what you’d expect it to and works great. I use it every single day and haven’t had any other problems!
Since Saturday (3/24) my phone’s battery was draining faster than normal, and the battery was getting hotter than normal. I looked my the phone’s battery usage in Settings and this app is using 1/3 of the battery! I’m assuming this is from a recent update, but I have never had this issue before, and usage shows this app being a top battery user. Whyyy? Please fix soon. I enjoy using the app overall.

But pleaseeee fix this issue with the watch app which is quite annoying: when you take the aligners off you put a reminder say for 30 minutes. Before the 30 minutes are up, you put the aligners back and update the timer. But! The reminders to put the aligners back on still come through even after you have updated the timer. This is very annoying!! I’m sure it’s an easy fix so please could you update it!! Then it will be a truly 5 star app!! Thank you!!!
