Excellent ID tips
The tips to identifying trees in PNW are well-written. Not just for beginners, there is something for everyone learning about our most common trees. App crashes frequently, especially on iPad Air, but I simply restart.

One photo error though — please fix! The “leader” photos for western red cedar and hemlock are identical.

PICTURES!!!
I'm so excited!! I was going to delete like I always do the second an app disappoints but I just couldn't for some reason. There is something about this app. It's so well done. It feels like a labor of love. I know the pictures not showing up is a problem and they did not load for me as well. But I kept it. And kept checking back. It's been a week. And today the pictures are all there. BEAUTIFUL images. I'm so glad I kept it! I've been trying to understand the forest I live in and THIS is the app for that. Thank you for all your hard work.
Olive Dancer,
Love trees, love this app!
I live in Oregon, and I love hiking around and I love trees - but embarrassingly I don’t know my native species. This app is perfect in the field! Has lots of great detailed info and lovely photos for the most common PNW native trees. Thoughtfully written and compiled. Easy to use interface. AND IT’S FREE such a gift.
Note: When I first installed the app (while I was out in the field), the photos did not load. I was sad. So I deleted the app from my phone (iPhone 11 with latest iOS) and reinstalled it when I was at home with WiFi. App took ~2-3 minutes to load all the photos, and I LOVE IT. Thanks so much - so grateful for your work Cliff.
Ann Hamilton,
It’s back!
After downloading (and loving) this app years ago, it eventually ceased working, as other users described. However there was an update in March 2022 so I downloaded again and gave it another shot. And the trees are back! Everything seems to be working as expected. This app is great for people who want to proactively learn to identify local PNW trees without the need to pull out their phone. It’s a great companion to a more traditional identification app.

Photos won’t download :(
I wish i could give this app 5 stars!! It has so much information and, as far as i could tell, very detailed identification tips... but the photos just won’t load. i’ve uninstalled the app and redownloaded it several times with no luck. It’s really a shame because it seems to be the most detailed and informative tree guide for the PNW. i would definitely be giving it 5 stars if not for the missing photos. I do still use the app because there is so much written information that tells the user what to look for and the unique traits for each tree, but the photos would have made it perfect.
blue luna,
Finally learning the trees!
Plus fix so that the pictures load! I love this app but after updating, the photos don’t load anymore.

I’ve bought so many tree books and have even taken a local tree ID class, but this app is what helped me the most when it came to learning and identifying trees in the PNW. Thank you for creating this app!

Information and photos won’t download
This app used to be great and it was a fantastic resource for identifying trees in the Pacific Northwest. Now I am unable to view any of the information or photos that I used to be able to see because it won’t download when I re-install the app.

I have tried everything, up to leaving the app open with the screen on for over an hour when re-installing the app, but nothing has worked. I hope this bug gets fixed so I can use this wonderful app again!

Wonderful APP Loaded with info
I have had this app for nearly four years now and granted there was an issue, but was resolved.

It truly is an amazing app with tons of detailed information of each species of trees along with several photos. Of the different apps I have on nature this is by far the best one. My hat is off to the developer, excellent job!

Oh my
After helping my son with 3 different plant/tree ID classes at our local college, this would have saved me tons of time. Wish author would put one out for flowers and bushes, I’d pay. Also a more expensive version that lets you enter in your own plants and maybe a way to share them. Well thought out app. Simple. Lots of pictures. Various info on trees (uses, etc). Love it.

Fantastic Species Identification
Initially the Photos didn’t download, but a quick note to Support and the problem was fixed.
Beautiful, sharp Photos of all aspects and ages of trees. Abundance of identifying details given, plus discussion of historical and modern uses.
Best Tree App for the PNW I’ve found, by far.
