BluJeanz,
Frustrations
It’s very irritating when the robot plays an ace on a king when the robot is the last to play and there are no points in the trick. Many times the robot plays high just to take the trick. Secondly, when I leave a game in the middle of a hand it’s for two reasons. 1. I need to go and I always send the message Gotta Run to be courteous. 2. When one of the players starts bidding crazy bids out of either frustration or anger - shoots when they clearly have no chance of making it. Bidding 9 or even 10 makes sense if they’re trying to block someone from winning. I get that. Usually I leave a game at this point, no apologies. When playing with live players the game is great and I really enjoy it. 👍 one more thing. I also leave when some one sends a wink to their partner indicating they have the Ace or something that’s going to take the 3. I like that you can’t talk but winking is a close as you get to it.

Best pitch/setback game available but needs improvement
Playing with real people is great and the interface works well. Only flaws are the poor AI play. If they win the bid and don't have the ace they'll lead trump with a low card and have it get scooped up, only to trump in with a king later on. Playing against the computer is almost like clockwork. The AI will hardly ever take a risk, when you're playing 4 point hands you'll win the bid nearly every time by bidding 2. In rare occurrences the computer will bid 3 when they have a monster hand and will, without question, have like ace king jack and another trump. Clearly a 4 bid. Other downside is not being able to play practice games when you are in airplane mode or don't have service. I hate to pick this app apart because it truly is great, but some glaring flaws could be fixed.
7fingersphil,
Overall very good
When you get a chance to play with real people it’s great. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that the when playing the computer, which is most of the time, the moves the computers make become predictable and are often very bad moves. I understand that reasoning behind why they’ve been programmed to make those moves but on an individual game level they can be bad choices. Also because of the way the computer makes moves your often able to tell with certainty of a player has trump or not and other cards they may or may not be holding. With that being said, it’s still fun to play when a real in person game can not be had, and the interface is really great. I would def recommend it to fans of pitch.

Many rules
Good app if you want to play many versions of pitch. Computer opponents are too predictable and often play in a nonsensical way. No holding leads on pointless hands, ie if your partner has the 8 and the king and it’s the second trick they will always play in order, so out comes the king. A human would hold it another trick in order to win points, and when you figure this out winning becomes very easy. You will only lose because there are games with really bad runs of cards and occasionally your computer partner will bid very high on nothing, even when you already have the bid secured. I’ve lost the bid to my partner playing 10 point when I had it for 7, and they bid 8, then you find out they have 4 cards, queen high. It’s good practice for newbies, but if you have an experienced player it’s flaws become tedious.

Absolute Garbage
When starting a general game you get thrown into a game in progress and have no idea what’s been played previously. The computer players are absolutely clueless and ALWAYS play their highest off suit cards no matter the situation. They also will bid and lead a small trump suit card while holding a king or queen and rarely lead a second trump card. I’ve actually seen computer players bid and lead out the deuce of trump as the first card! It’s frustrating to watch opponents drop the low because the bidder doesn’t lead trump twice. You cannot win playing with computer players as your partner. It’s rigged to try and keep games close. Random cards do not fall like this simulation. It seems you can go forever without seeing a face card then all of a sudden you’re being dealt nothing but killer hands for a game or two. If you have the slightest inkling of basic pitch strategy this simulation will leave you extremely frustrated!

The best you’ll probably get
Pitch is a family tradition, so being able to have something like this so we can play year round is awesome! The one real downside I have with the game is playing with the computers. Often times they work really well but then probably twice per game they will throw out a 9 bid when the only have an Ace. A small complaint but nothing will ever be perfect (I make quite a few mistakes in my card playing as well.)

But this is definitely the easiest way to play pitch on a mobile device, and is something I recommend to everyone who wants to play.

Perfect pitch practice
I got this app with low expectations. I really just wanted something that would help me learn the rules and strategy because I had never played pitch before and embarrassed myself when I played with friends. I am VERY impressed. I have had no problems at all and am a bit addicted at this point. The games flow smoothly and when you choose to use AI real players can come and go and you barely notice. Otherwise you can play “compete” which basically means only real players. That is cool too. Oh and you can play with friends too. It’s cool.
Kingoftheslotz,
Very solid, with a few minor flaws.
Totally agree with the other review.. playing with humans is fantastic, fast and smooth. Playing with computers is awful. Making 4 bids when no one has even bid 2, and without the Jack as well. The computer will consistently lead a small card if they don’t have the Ace, but will then cut the King or Queen to take a non trump Ace (only 4 pts towards game). I also wish they had a rule format where the dealer can take a 3 bid for 3. Also... no smudge?!

Outside of these issues, the gameplay is consistent and enjoyable, so long as you’re playing with other humans.

Great, but not perfect
I love playing this game. It's a great way to play some 4 handed games of pitch when I have some free time. It's best when there are 4 people playing because the bots that fill in empty seats are pretty bad.
There are some downsides though. The chat function is virtually useless because the game moves so fast. I've only been able to play 4 handed (it's still good but I like 6 or 8 handed better). The game makes the dealer bid over the highest bidder if they want to take the bid. I like it when the dealer can take the bid for whatever it's at when it gets to the dealer.
stacy_ideus,
Surprisingly awesome!
Very happily surprised with this app! Hardly any ads- it’s free and I can play with friends who live a town away. I prefer to play real people and not the computer people- it is a little tricky to figure out how to compete. It’s fast play which takes getting used to but you can quickly play a game while you’re waiting in line or in the car or whatever. I have found myself playing a lot! It’s improved my skills when my husband and I play a ‘real’ game of pitch.
