Description
This app allows you to walk all around a virtual horse as you practice administering a TPR (temperature, pulse, respiration) exam, part of a larger set of measurements that make up a complete wellness exam. After taking each measurement you will learn what each of these can tell you about your horse’s well-being and how to care for them.
Interact with a realistically rendered, life-sized animated 3D horse in the comfort of your own home.
Learn through doing. Each activity is crafted with subject matter experts to be as accurate as possible.
Receive feedback in real time to help guide you through best practices and what to watch out for.
Easy-to-find hotspots highlight locations where you can engage in an activity with the horse.
Trivia questions after each health assessment refine your ability to know when your horse is healthy or when to talk to a professional, all in a safe and risk-free environment.
Intuitive interface guides you through each activity, allowing you to focus on learning.
This app was developed to enhance equine education at North Carolina State University and involved a collaboration between the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), the College of Veterinary Medicine, NC State Extension, and NC State’s Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA). It is suitable for students who are completely new to equine science or already experienced in the field.
