Description

With TRUE MANAGER™ AIR Mobile App and TRUE METRIX® AIR Blood Glucose wireless meter, you can track data to get valuable insights that link daily activity with your glucose results. Easy-to-read charts, graphs and customizable notes make understanding data actionable. Also, share data with healthcare providers, friends, and family to help manage diabetes.

Features:
o Simple to navigate logbook shows date, time, blood glucose results and event tag from meter

o Additional event tags may be added to results in addition to personal notes

o Each blood glucose result is color coded to indicate if you are within acceptable range. You may customize the ranges given to you by your healthcare professional or use the default setting which are the established 2015 American Diabetes Association guideline target ranges (mg/dL):

YELLOW = Above Normal, greater than 130
GREEN = Normal, 80-130
RED = Hypoglycemic, less than 70

NOTE: A doctor or healthcare professional determines how often to test and what the target ranges are for blood glucose results.

o Six Reports provide total insights :

▪ Average Report - View 7, 14, 30, 60, 90 and 120 day averages to review general trending and spot areas for improvement.

▪ Conformance Report - This report displays pre- and post- meal glucose results in a pie chart format. Each pie chart is divided into color coded sections identifying the percentage of glucose results that are above, within or below targeted ranges for each testing time.

▪ Glucose Trend Report - This graph can be customized by target range, date and time to reveal patterns and to quickly identify glucose results that are too low or too high.

▪ Logbook Report - Review all glucose results, including control results, over a specific time period in chronological order.

▪ Modal Day/Week Report - View all results in specific time blocks per day or week. Color coded for easy review of glucose results within, above or below customized target ranges.

o Share data via PDF through email with healthcare providers, friends and family.

o Help screens are available on most pages if assistance is needed.

uthpastordave,
So much potential, so disappointing
As a new diabetic, I was overwhelmed with the prospect of having to chart every reading. I got the TrueMetrix Air in order to take advantage of the Bluetooth connection and logging. It mostly works, but doesn’t auto sync like the documentation says it will, so I manually connect it. I’m just annoyed that it doesn’t do what it says it will do.

My biggest complaint? Why in the world doesn’t it sync with Apple Health? Seriously?!? You’ve got an app that you have developed to work on iOS devices but you’re going to lock your customers out of taking advantage of something that could integrate with a highly used and effective way for people to track their healthy statistics in one place?!? Even my blood pressure machine/app integrates with Apple Health.

You’ve had this app out for a number of years and you can’t be bothered to update it and provide basic integration to an app used by millions of people? Shame on you!
L_Syn,
Has potential, just isn’t there yet
This app has a lot of potential, but unfortunately isn’t great as-is. It does what it says- syncs with the meter via Bluetooth, but that’s about it. It also doesn’t work with dark mode in iOS, which is really a pain. I have to keep changing my settings to use the app, but I digress...

In my experience, most people who are monitoring blood sugar are also monitoring other health stats like weight, blood pressure, ketones, and tracking medications. This app doesn’t need to be able to do all that, but it would be great if it could share data with the apps we all already use to track that, like Apple Health. I eat Freahly meals and track my nutrition by syncing Apple Health with the Freshly App. My activity ring and watch syncs activity and heart rate with Apple Health. Being able to have this app share my readings with the Apple Health app would let me track all my readings and compare to nutrition data, weight, and blood pressure to make positive changes to address or prevent health issues.
flashinpan2,
Does not integrate with Apple Health
You know, these are simple numbers. Sharing these automatically with the Apple Health app would be a trivial matter.

The supplied app does work. Not the best Bluetooth integration, but useable. You can get it to work after a bit and then just memorize the procedure. No marks off for that.

The hardware works fine. It transfers the data to the app via a sync icon once Bluetooth is activated (which is not automatic). A reading is displayed, but for some reason, you can’t swipe or scroll through other readings. You have to go to the “logbook” to see a list of view them on a report.

My thought is, if you’re not going to put significant resources into designing an app with a rich set of features, just make it utilitarian with the basics and let it integrate into Apple Heath or Withings or some other health app that complies your data.

This is a basic app. The best you can do is email yourself your numbers and plug them in manually. If you are on an iOS device, which you must be if you are reading this, it kind of makes sense to find another device that provides integration with other heath iOS apps.

It’s valuable to see all your blood data alongside of exercise, diet and other metrics. Otherwise you are testing in a vacuum and missing out on a chance to really keep track of, and maintain your health.
andhabs,
App crashes EVERY time
This was good (even great) for the first week after downloading it. Was really helpful for me to see all of my blood sugar readings in one place and organized just how I like it— without having to remember jotting down every single one of my readings throughout the day. The Bluetooth connection was the next level feature I needed to motivate me to check more often because once my meter and iphone are connected and the results come flooding in, I do feel really proud of myself which is so important as a Type 1 that can’t catch a break with this disease.

But, after the initial week of using this app, it CONTINUOUSLY CRASHES and it is the most frustrating thing EVER. As soon as you click on the app and it opens up to the home screen, the app closes out and you’re suddenly staring at your iPhone home screen. Even if you try closing and reopening the app, it does the same thing again and shuts down before downloading ANY blood sugar readings from the True Metrix meter.

I had such high hopes for this app. Extremely disappointed.

iPad Clarification
1st reviewer stated app works with "iPad Air" which is newest model. I have an iPad2 so when you get to the App Store it doesn't even see this app until you to tap the first tab & change from iPad to iPhone. Only then will it even see the app. I successfully downloaded & installed, yes only displays in portrait, but would not stay open for me to do anything with the app just kept closing & returning to my home screen.

My iPad & iPhone both iOS 9.3.3 so I venture to say it wasn't designed to work with iPads, or only newer iPads, particularly since it doesn't even see the app with tab in iPad. This is often the case with a lot of apps; however, normally when I switch tab to iPhone I can install & use the app.

Paired to my iPhone easily but will check with the developer about it not installing on my iPad.

As to the apps usefulness, it's to soon to say; I am attempting to pair it to my insulin pump, so far no go, so will also ask the developer about that since that's much more advantageous for me.

So only rated as a 2 since without iPad, or insulin pump I don't see a benefit for me to even use the app.
meitnik,
Stay away from this app
To use your app, according to your website, I would have to still be using iOS 13 (very few are using that now) not 14.6 and clearly not 15 which will be shipping soon. Further, you have chosen to exclude support of iPhone SE/SE 2020. You have chosen to lock out millions of diabetics who use iOS 14 and an iPhone SE/SE 2020. With your state contracts with Medicaid and Medicare you are selling a defective product. You fail to document your app fails to work; you have failed to update the app for over a year for an important medical device. I have already sent to Apple proof you are not being honest with users in the App store; likewise with Humana. You think I should be forced to hand transcribe the meter data; that would be a hardship for many disabled folks. Your excuse about waiting for FDA to approve your app does not help nor truthful; Apple approves the app not FDA. Apple is concerned too.
Game playerqw,
Poor to very low compatibility with iPhone iOS 14.1 and above
The app does not work with the apple updates or on the he iPhone 12 pro consistently. I have not been able to trans results from the meter to the app since several updates ago on the iOS system. The support team from Travidia has not been very helpful even indicating their meter and app do not work well with iOS and that they were not updating their system to solve the problem of poor to no compatibility with iOS. The way the travidia person told me to get their system to possibibly work made you go through several steps and then doors not work consistently. I have had to delete the app several times, reinstall, re pair and hope it works again. I am going to complain to the supplier and see if I can get a replacement earlier than scheduled so I can see how I am trending through a workable app. Travidia has not helped.
chazzmatic,
This App Could be So Much More If it Wanted
The App is basic, but seems like the developers went skimpy and pretty much abandoned any additional innovation to this. Seems they are content to have it just basically mope along. It seems a bit antiquated with the interface and dynamics. This was slapped together just to say True Metrix has an app just to monitor.
In reality, the devs and the company could make this a little more feature rich and hiccup free. trying to share via text brings up a PDF in Unicode? Unable to see the logic in that, also trying to back up data to alternate email, sends an unreadable file to my email in a format that is NOT supported. Should have the abilities to:
*Auto synch,
*share with NORMAL PDF deliveries,
*option to share real time results (i.e., if you share your password with spouse, etc.)they can log in from any device that has the app installed & see real time results
For now, I have to improvise & screen grab to share.
Ok device, so so app just for the sake of having an app
Tallynoles,
Needs more Flexibility
I love being able to upload Glucose levels from the device and writing notes to explain what was going on at the time of the readings. In addition, it helps the doctor’s understand how to better determine if the meds are working and what adjustments need to be made.

However, there are some drawbacks to this app. It does not sync with the Health App. This would be helpful when trying to monitor your overall health or when using Health apps like Carb Manager or MyFitness Pal. You will be able to compare the glucose levels with the foods to determine how foods affect your glucose.

Please add this as a feature enhancement....integrate the glucose levels in the Health App.
abrx123,
UPDATE: Problem with 2.1.0. Cannot see text in logbook
UPDATE: I turned off dark mode on my iPhone and can see the text in the logbook as expected. So, there is a bug whereby your app is not compatible with iOS dark mode. Thanks.

Seems like this started when latest version was pushed. When editing (adding a new comment) in logbook, the text does not appear. When I save, the text shows. But does not show when editing. Also, seems like app is now in perpetual dark mode. I cannot read any menu items in reports, utilities or settings. All menu titles are blacked out. Help!!!
