Whats new?
- New "Guest mode"
It's indeed a bit silly that you must log in to play, so we added Guest mode, so you can play without a social media account
- Error 500 and other server errors fixed
We got some new beefy servers, the annoying server related error alerts are fixed and now everything should be butter smooth
- Fixed "No connection" error message on Cellular
It was a rookie mistake when you were on cellular, a "No connection" alert appeared. Of course, its now fixed and removed
- Fixed other potential crashes
- Improved performance

In my opinion this is a great app!
In my opinion this is a great app! It never had a problem recognizing me smiling! Though I did see a couple problems.. First when my phone would move a little bit because my hand was tired of holding my phone up it would count as “smiling”. Second when I would take a breath (I am a mouth breather because of something to do with my nose all my life) anyway when I would take a good breath it would count as smiling!!! Like WHAT??? Other than that it is a great app!!! I will give this a four star because I see what they were going for and I love the idea!!

Great idea. Released too early.
Although the app is very interesting, I have to admit that I did have a bit of fun using this app, it was a pain to use. First you have to aim the camera at your face (this can be annoying holding up your phone to your face for a long period of time) and then it takes 10-15 minutes for it to finally work. You have to make sure that you’re in a well lit room (believe me I was in a bright room) and then you have to make sure that you weren’t smiling (pretty easy). However it takes quite a while to detect your mouth to see whether you are smiling or not which really pisses me off. Also even when the app works as intended as soon as the first video appears it automatically ends since I was smiling when I clearly wasn’t (so this needs to be worked on). For this reason I’m giving this app a three star rating (good idea, but released way too early in my opinion). Hopefully this is updated to make the overall experience better! 🙂👍🏿

Fun game, but...
While I do believe this is a nice game to challenge your friends, or simply your own sanity, there is some language which I believe is too vulgar for younger viewers, such as the b or even the f bomb. If the age rating was around 16 then this wouldn’t be as much of a problem, but game is said to be rated for ages 4 and up. My suggestion would be to either up the age rating, or add some kind of setting to restrict those videos with stronger language or visuals.
Another issue is that there were several occasions where videos would cut off halfway through, or not show up. On one occasion the screen was circling though several titles with only audio overlapping.
Eventually my face was cut off, and audio kept playing even when I tried to cover my face to trigger a game over. Please try to look into that as well.

It’s good, but not great
The way that they put a camera and funny videos is 5 stars, but i took one star away because people like me don’t have Twitter and I don’t want to share my life on social media, but Twitter is LITERALLY the only way to log in. LITERALLY! And I tried to download twitter but they kept on saying that my account is suspended for NO REASON! (But please, one review at a time) so I couldn’t log in, but good thing is that I can still do the challenges but bad news is that I cant see my leaderboard. Another reason why I took another star is because this game is kinda bogus because sometimes when I do the challenge, they keep saying that I smiled even though I did not!! Maybe it’s a glitch but IDK. So yeah that’s my longest review.

Great work — for a 16 year old
Hands down great work. I saw your featured story and downloaded to see how well you did. As a developer, I’m very impressed by what you’ve accomplished!
My only feedback — There is far too much duplication of videos. I had all the categories on and after every ten videos I had at least 2-3 repeats. I’m assuming you’re pulling randomly from the Popular API? Try adding a filter for videos the user already saw.

Great idea but videos not the best
Only reason I rate it as 3 ⭐️ is for the following:
I totally agree on the idea and intention of the app however , the videos are the ones that made me uninstall the app. I tend to laugh at pretty much anything I see but these videos are stupid. They are empty of real jokes they are more of mock than anything else. Those are the same videos I try to keep my son away from watching because I’m a strong believer they make people stupid and grow that same way without being able to take life serious. Being funny or laugh at anything doesn’t mean you need to be stupid or lack of mature points of view.

So what happens if you don't smile?
I watched this with about as much of a smile as Grumpy Cat could muster if he were watching the most vapid Vine rehashes of all time. I was as stone faced as a statue on Easter Island. So what's the result? An interminable studying contest. Who will blink first, the app or you? If the app blinks - that just mean it crashed. If you blink, or move, or otherwise show any sign of being a living, breathing object moving through time and space, too bad! That counts as a smile! Try not be alive next time. Great app to take to a funeral. Challenge the dearly frosted to a game. They might just lose. After which the app will sigh a sigh of relief and take advantage of the opportunity to blink itself off.
TLDR; brain-cell killing videos will make you contemplate suicide. Fun for the whole family.

Not really funny
The idea of this is great, but most of the videos aren't funny, but just stupid and cringy, often with bizarre music over it. Also clips repeat a lot, and occasionally fail to load, just showing the caption for a few seconds then going to another clip. The few good, legitimately funny clips end too soon, just before you have a chance to smile. I ended up lasting 6 1/2 minutes before smiling out of boredom, just so it would end. Apparently that puts me at around 1000th place on the leaderboard, in the top 10% of those tracked. But I couldn't even enter the leaderboard, as it requires you to log into Twitter for some reason.

First of all, I’m absolutely blown away that a high schooler made this app. You just made something that many people can only dream of making, and the overall concept is wonderful.
However, the execution... Not so much.
The facial recognition is very sensitive. And I mean VERY SENSITIVE. It’s always teetering between “Stop smiling” and “The challenge will begin soon.” I have to hold my arms outstretched and stay completely still in order for it to pick up my face. This process literally takes 5-7 minutes. And if I have to sneeze or scratch my face, that’s another 10 minutes trying to refocus the camera.
When it finally does pick up my face, I don’t last even 30 seconds before it says I smiled when I didn’t. Just the slightest twitch or hint of a breath is enough to trigger “You smiled!” and end the challenge. Then the process repeats itself.
Again, wonderful idea but please fix the facial recognition!

Disappointing
At first I thought this app would be a really fun thing to do with my family and friends, but now I regret ever finding it. 1-You shouldn’t have to find your face because it takes forever, I get that some people like that, but at least have a mode to turn it of. 2-(Pretty much the same as 1) During the video it would say that I smiled yet I was FROWNING THE WHOLE TIME. I even watched the video back again and I wasn’t smiling >:( 3-Since I watched this with my family and friends I always keep it on kids and sometimes cute, yet they still swear. Pls fix\change these things and it would make this app way better.
