If you can’t live in China, this is the next best choice
I have been using Tutorming for almost 3 years. I’ve been studying Chinese for eight years, and I started studying at age 52. I’ve worked with Tutorming to eradicate most of their sexism and racism, and now we’re working on elements of logic: for example, going up in a hot air balloon is not called “skydiving.” The curriculum is far, far better than when I started. Where Tutorming excels is with their teachers. I have found the teachers to be fantastic, engaging, fun, and extremely reasonable. I have had many other Chinese classes in the SF area (Berkeley, SF City College, SF State, etc.), plus in-person tutors, Rosetta Stone, and classes in China. In order to learn Chinese, you need to practice daily. This is a serious benefit of Tutorming in that you can schedule it anytime anywhere 24 hours a day. I typically do nine hours a week. My Chinese friends can definitely tell I have improved. China is the future, and I know this based upon the coherence of the written language, plus having lived in China for two years. If you want to be indispensable in your waning years, learn Chinese. You will not be sorry.

Great option for online lessons
We have been using TutorMing for mandarin lessons for our son for over 4 years! We used another company prior and switched.
The teachers are ready to teach whenever we need them. The teachers are awesome and work very hard. They are super patient when working with kids but also give honest feedback for parents to review. They offer simple homework after the lesson if you want it. It is just a quick multiple choice quiz. You have access to a list of all the vocabulary you learn for more review.
Started in elementary grade and plan on using this service through high school. My middle school kid just aced a high school Chinese 1 course and is working on Chinese 2. He can bring homework to the TutorMing lesson if he needs help. Which is good because I don’t speak Chinese!

I am about 20 lessons into the 120 lesson package, and am having so much fun!!
I would highly recommend TutorMing if you already are or are considering learning chinese mostly because of their teaching model. They will pair you up with different teachers every lesson because realistically, if you travel to chinese speaking country, you will talk to different people and potentially come across slight variants in pronunciations from person to person. This method is very innovative!
Also, you can schedule and take classes 24/7 and access the material to review before your session starts. After the class, you have the option of reviewing the teacher and also doing a short 10 question mini-quiz.
All in all, there is no huge pressure on you to learn and they don’t take the fun out of learning like many other programs do! And customer service is very responsive in case of an issue.

Great for Fluency
I love tutorMing! It has been a great progression in my learning. I have used other apps and I feel that with this I have had an exponential increase in skill, pronunciation and knowledge. If you want to really learn Chinese this is the app for you. You can download and save the slides, review lessons with interactive teachers for practice and once you are apart of tutorMing, they often send you holiday flash cards! They are the best!

Great resource for Chinese distance learning
I have been searching for a strong distance learning app for Chinese for nearly 5 years now and finally found Tutorming. It has great experienced teachers, a user friendly UI, and offline resources such as class review and flash cards for self study.
