After the first 5 minutes you have learned how to associate the name of the state with its location.
I would recommend that the author also include a puzzle feature in a future revision

I really like this ap. Definitely easy to use. I would just really recommend letting the user review a full map of the US before going into study mode.

A Good Start
I will say up front that the technique works very well for visual learners, like me. I agree with other reviews that say the map should be bigger. Also that the interaction should be improved so that you touch the state in question, or type in the answer. I am pleased with the results, however, and will try other apps by this company.

This app is crazy. You have to rate your confidence for each of the questions....very annoying. I deleted it and will be looking for one that asks question about this subject and not how I felt

The map itself could be larger especially since the smaller states are hard to see. I was disappointed that you can not highlight the correct state. Current function ( which took a minute or so to realize) you have to think of the correct state and tap to see the answer. The user has to rate how well they knew this answer, on a scale from "not at all" to "perfectly." This is a terrible interaction.
The interactivity would greatly improve if the user can select the state and/or correct answer then tap to see answer. Either check marked green or check marked red for wrong and show correct answer. From there, have a mastery scale to choose from or let the app decide your mastery at the end.
