phukapplesheit,
Essential disc golf resource
As a player who travels all over the country and in other countries, I use UDisc all the time to evaluate which courses to play, how to get there, and to navigate my way through each course while keeping score. Of course info is up to date, all of these are seem less, and I’m able to play what I want, when I want. If you’re interested, you can waste a lot of time logging every throw. But the basics are almost all anyone needs. One of the best apps I’ve ever had. Back in the day, I used to carry around the PDGA course guide whenever I would travel and find new courses to play. Now UDisc has all that info and so much more! Reviews provide great insights, an ongoing account of all the rounds I log and courses I’ve played (up to 135), and stats that show me what I do well, and where I need to improve. Every time I meet peeps on the course that seem lost, I recommend UDisc, and I must have turned a couple dozen players onto this awesome resource.
Jsauce07,
Too many issues
1. Biggest issue is lack of updates. Few years ago, support told me stat taking via Watch was in progress. Several years later and still no ability to take stats. 2. Watch app doesn’t update hole # on your phone. This impacts issue #3. 3. Bushnell jockey while using your watch doesn’t give proper distance unless you take your phone out and switch holes and then press jockey button. It still thinks your on the hole your phone thinks you’re at. 4. Bushnell jockey works 1/6 times I hit the button, even on courses I have great service on. Using iPhone 13 Pro with 5G, location services enable, background refresh enabled, etc. 5. User interface has improved greatly when looking at a course but lacks a proper start/home screen. It should default to a center button home with quick access to start round, Udisc Live, etc. It shouldn’t take 2 clicks and swipes just to view Udisc Live, one of the most used sections of the app. Why download a 2nd app? Nonetheless, I am currently not going to renew pro next year until stats come to watch. I’ve waited a few years and Udisc is the reason I bought a Watch to begin. App is still great, but doesn’t currently fit my needs as it did when I first started playing. Don’t take my review, test the app for your needs!

The Ambassador Program Is Flawed & Can Lead To Gatekeeping
It’s understandable that UDisc (and legitimate course designers) don’t want Johnny Hyzer showing up and entering layouts that are inappropriate (such as putting a long-tee layout at a course that a local municipality has intended for putters only), but I have seen too many instances where ambassadors either fail to maintain the layouts or appoint themselves to turn the park into something it isn’t nor wasn’t intended to be. This has included locking a user’s abilities to make edits to layouts which have clearly changed from what’s posted on UDisc, ambassadors overtaking beginner courses to decrease pars that are contrary to signage (ex. Listing a hole as par 3 when park signage says it’s a par 4), or inappropriately listing courses as object courses despite the clear presence of baskets. This needs to be cleaned up into a system where the approval for user edits goes to the course ambassador for approval before being approved by UDisc if not answered within a specific timeframe (such as 48-72 hours) instead of preventing end users from making updates because someone else appointed themselves as course ambassador. Sorry to leave a negative review over this but it infuriates me when we were able to govern ourselves as a community before the introduction of this program.

Pay to play
The app was great for logging scores and showing improvement in performance UNTIL the free trial ran out. I expected the trial to end when it did, but did NOT expect to no longer be able to create scorecards. App developer, we appreciate your work to make this app’s functionality convenient and fun, but don’t even try to justify to app users that a maximum of 10 scorecards is a good perk of the app without the Pro account; we don’t buy it. Creating scorecards is the most basic feature of this app and you’re taking it away. I would like to suggest a change as others have done: make a lite version with basic features such as creating unlimited scorecards, but leave out some other more advanced features that only Pro users can access. Besides, you may get several users (mostly pros and extremely dedicated players) to buy into this, but your overall community (devout players, occasional players, and newcomers) will delete the app because they refuse to pay for something that’s not worth it. Please take our advice — we love this app and want to enjoy it, but we won’t use it until you make a change!
Red waks,
Very intuitive
It’s an amazing app that makes playing disc golf more enjoyable by tracking your progress. The there a few features I would like added. It would be nice to be able to record stats on Apple Watch, instead of just recording the score. It would also be cool, when searching for courses, to be able to witch a particular area, rather than how it is now where a circle pops up over an arbitrary and periodic area framed to your phone screen. The last feature I want is for courses that have multiple tee boxes, and multiple holes, every hole. If there were a way to select randomly for each hole, which box to tee off from, it’d be possible to make custom games, and even make it up on the fly to make games more competitive between people of different skill levels. Every feature the app currently has works seamlessly and the pro version is easily worth it.
MarcusGuy,
Sub ran out, now unusable
I have been a huge fan of this app and used it for the last couple of years. I upgraded to Pro to be able to share scorecards across my friends so that only one of us would have to score, but we could all still see our stats over time. Last year I joined a league for the first time and got a huge benefit out of the events features. It’s a great app, but only when you pay for the subscription. Due to some life changes this year, I was unable to play at all this summer. I played my first and second rounds of disc golf this week (late September). I found out that my subscription expired two weeks ago and I can no longer create scorecards. I literally can’t even use the basic feature of the app. Given that I live on MN and probably won’t be playing any more disc this season, it really doesn’t make sense to pay for the subscription. Very disappointed in this choice of model by UDisc, I should at least be able to create scorecards and track my own progress, even if I can’t share with friends. At the moment, I cannot recommend the app except to dedicated league members.
GxMoNeYx,
If you play disc golf regularly, you need this app
Don't be a fool, this app gots all you need to be slinging chains on the course. If the course your looking to play is worth anything, there's probably a map and scorecard for it on UDisc. It tells you where the courses are, how to navigate it, and gives you a great and easy way to keep score. Apple watch complements this app greatly with the ability to keep score on your wrist. The only downside to the free version is that you can only save 10 score cards (although you can delete old ones and make new ones). If you happen to play in tournaments, the premium version of this app is included with your PDGA membership. Which pays for itself after playing in roughly 5 tournaments. So don't be stupid and look lost on the course, get this app.
Dickencody,
Lovely, annoying app.
I’ve fallen in love with disc golf. The same could be said about this app. Except this app is kind of like have a spunky, quirky, cool, but ultimately annoying girlfriend. Here is where I’ll mention I don’t like how this app changes to order of players based on who has the honors. Have you ever played golf? And kept score on a paper scorecard? Have you ever kept score on anything? Have you EVER seen a scorecard where the order of players changes on you? I don’t think I’ve scored half of my rounds correctly because of this quirk. It even comes through annoying adulterated on Apple Watch. Which reminds me. I used to have this irrefutably fun girlfriend that was already ready a fun time, but she was always a bit of a different person every time I was around her. It threw me off, just like scoring with this app. And I’ll stick with its quirks until something more stable comes along.
jbum00000,
Good and keeps getting better but…
Love this app. Udisc really helps track your progress. You have to know where you started, to really understand how far you’ve come and this does just that and so much more. Link up with friends, share cards, even watch the scores from live tournaments. I love the apple watch feature… but it does not allow you to track the shots like in the app. It would make the watch part of the app so much more valuable. I want to use these features but going back and forth to the phone between shots and walking to the next area doesn't always afford you the time when playing With others. There are occasional glitches but they are minor and the data is still there after a reboot. I really love the app and am grateful for the access. Buy the premium version, its worth it.
Acajohn29,
One of the best features is GONE
Since I began using this app regularly about two years ago it changed my disc golf experience completely. I love it and it has helped me complete courses that are nearly un-navigable without its maps, not to mention find them in the first place. It is truly essential for disc golf players.

However, I am reducing my rating from five stars to three now because of the latest update. In 2021 I used the course locator feature to plot day trips in eight states and played 102 unique courses. This was made possible by the fact that when you selected a course you could zoom in and find all the nearby courses. All the details were there as you looked at the more localized map. Suddenly about two weeks ago the app was updated and that feature was removed! Improvement?! Ha, they took off one the best parts of the app.

I had to exchange a half dozen emails with support to get them to understand what I had been doing. I can’t believe I’m the only person who used this feature. Now when you zoom in all the neighboring courses magically disappear and you must go to the general course location view to see what courses exist nearby.

PLEASE put this feature back!
