Great for Italian Verb Conjugations
The access to fully conjugated verbs across most verb tenses is worth the price of this dictionary. High recommendations for Ultra Linguistic dictionaries - this is my third, along with French-English, French-français, and German-English.

Yes, I admit that I would like the price to be lower as well, but I think for $20, this application has plenty of features to make me happy.
I travel on the airplane a lot and so the offline access is very valuable for me. The ability to lookup for words in the airplane without having to bring an additional paper dictionary is a wonderful thing. And some of the places that I travel do not necessary have the wifi or the data access (e.g. when I am not in the US). The app is better than the online dictionary since I could look up the word faster via the search without having to wait for the response to come back from the server. The integrated conjugation is a welcome addition though I would like to be able to look all type of tenses without having to tap the type of tenses that I want to see.

Easy to jump from italian to english, and look up any word by clicking on it.
Latest update lets you sort your history which is nice. If you're looking for a more precise study tool and not just an inaccurate phrasebook, this is the app. The price is worth it!

Excellent!
This is an extremely helpful dictionary. I have used it extensively for intermediate Italian homework and out of 500 words or more that I looked up it only missed one (minestrone). It is also tense-aware and the various conjugations of verbs is invaluable. It also understands plural nouns so if you type in “case” (houses--plural) it goes to “casa” (house) with the correct definition. There was just an upgrade released adding a forward / back and history feature among some other improvements. Although a bit expensive it does way more than any pocket dictionary.

This little app is awesome and definitely worth the money! Look up a word, tap the desired verb to conjugate - a much faster process than using a paper dictionary. Just think how much money you've paid for your books that take forever to flip through!
If you're a serious student or a scholar, I can't tell you how much time and effort you will save! I now don't have to carry half the books to my Italian lesson, this is incredible! Get this thing now, you won't regret it!

iPad interface is awesome!
The new version wonderfully uses ipads screen and after the bug fix works well. The app is highly useful, especially the verb conjugations.
The dictionary itself is large, but missing a lot of words and expressions. I hope there will be updates to fill in the gaps.

Great, but expensive!
I've been using Ultralinga for years now and it was one of the applications I missed the most when I gave up my Treo for my iPhone. I've been PRAYING that Ultralingua have an app someday for the iPhone. The conjugator is great and the upgrades have always been spot on.
However... $30 BUCKS!!! As much as I love Ultralingua, I have to think that somebody will come up with a similiar application at a price equal to most of the iPhone applications. Sorry Ultra, but I'll jump ship in a heartbeat.

Crap!
This app is crap and a waste of money. After spending a little time with it I quickly realized how useless it is. It doesn't even include basic things such as the plural form of nouns (this isn't generally an issue, but occasionally you run across non-standard plural forms). Also the search interface seems clunky and not all of the translations direct you to the most appropriate word (sometimes it isn't even listed although other choices are). If it were a two dollar app then it might be okay, but this is ridiculously poor quality for such a high price. Should have listened to the negative reviews...now to try and get my money back.

Disappointing
I'm currently in my 3rd year of undergraduate Italian & downloaded this app before a weeklong trip to Venice. Since I have some background, I wasn't looking up super-basic words, but rather terms used on menus and museum displays. Almost nothing I looked up was listed in the dictionary. It was pretty good in verb conjugations, but incomplete in many respects: no English translation for essere (to be) in any of the subjunctive tenses?! Really? No indications that the are differences between "tu" ("you" informal) and "Lei" ("you" formal)? That can get you into serious trouble!
