Description

UMSkinCheck is intended for skin cancer self exam and surveillance that allows users to complete and store a full body photographic library, track detected moles/lesions, access informational videos and literature and fill out a melanoma risk calculator.

A skin cancer self exam is used to identify suspicious moles or lesions that may be cancer or growths that may develop into skin cancer (precancers). Individuals who are at a high risk of skin cancer are encouraged to perform frequent skin self exams and to have full body photographic surveys taken by professional photographers. Using UMSkinCheck, patients will be able to complete a full skin cancer self exam and photo survey, track and create a history of moles and lesions and receive regular reminders to perform follow up self exams and check on lesions that are being tracked.

Weezyl65,
Helpful to track, could do better
Had issue with sideways pictures, app froze each time and couldn't save picture ... Had to take without turning iPad to work. Got through ok with two sets of pictures six months apart. Would love to be able to view those sets side by side for each pose. Nice start, great idea.
TravisDW,
Simple, Useful, Informative
This app was easy to use from the start. It's uses are simple and laid out for you. I love having a resource to take notes on questionable skin lesions, rather than try to describe them in my Notes app or even worse, trying to simply remember where they all are at and how they've evolved over time. I'd recommend this to everyone. It's a great resource to bring to a doc who can more efficiently assess and treat you.
Lgenkin,
I wish I had this before my wife's Cancer!
Great, simple and thorough app that makes it easy to monitor and be proactive with potential problem areas. My wife just had a malignant lesion removed and this app would have no doubt allowed us realize it was a problem much earlier on.
Surfenusa Xd,
Great concept but
When I take a photo using the front camera, after I line up my body, the image is flipped causing it to be the wrong side. Fix the app so that the model figure is flipped to the opposite side when switching from the back to the front camera.
Deva L,
Won't let me finish the baseline exam
Heard about this on NPR and thought it sounded great. Tried to set my baseline a exam and it wouldn't let me save the pictures half way through. It's bad enough you have to have someone else take the pictures, but then to not be able to get through step one was frustrating. i know this app is free (you get what you pay for) but it needs work! Maybe Ill try again if they fix this.

UMSinCheck
Great concept, but multiple times the app refused to save the photo. Pressed Done to go back to beginning, tried again, still wouldn't save. No problems with first 5 pictures, but then most all pictures after that had problems. Finally gave up.
jenulizza,
Want: multiple users
A big improvement would be the option to set up more than one person - i.e. self, spouse, kids. Otherwise great idea and potentially very helpful health app!
Emily Puckett Rodgers,
Helpful and easy
This is one of the few very useful apps I have on my phone. It is intuitive, easy to navigate and very helpful. It could save me and my friends or family time, money, and worry.
The Path Rocks,
Genius!!

KTravEth15,
