Blinky Banker,
More Than Just Frosting on the Cake
This app not only teaches the public about audio description and provides opportunities to contribute content, but it also serves as a vehicle for exploring treasured national parks where everyone can learn about them, and people who are blind or have low vision can gain access to all that information most people take for granted. talk about a win-win situation!
Gothamgal,
Great accessibility app
This app includes audio description of the national park brochures for most of the parks in the United States. It’s wonderful to have such an app. It would be even better if it were possible to download the descriptions and listen to them off-line. The computer voice is fine, but could use some tweaks, especially when reading telephone numbers. It would be much nicer listening to a real person. I like that this offers the option to experience just the description, or to also read the text (perhaps with your preferred text to voice options?).

Opens up access to our parks
I can listen to a little or a lot about each location, depending on my interest. Easy to navigate the menus within the app. It’s helping me decide where I’d like to visit next!
Fordograf,
Voiced
The app is a nice piece of technology that creates awareness and education to the disabled community about our National Parks. One issue that could be improved upon is the synthetic speech and pronunciation. It would be nice if the voice sounded slightly more human than robotic. Folks that use screen readers may be used to this? Otherwise the audio description is an extremely effective tool that people will enjoy and be grateful to have access to.

T Dunk
This is an extremely useful tool for not only the vision-impaired, but for anyone who would like additional information on a National Park. It can be used on site, or at home.

Easy to use, and useful
It’s easy to find the park brochure you’re interested in, drill down to the sections you want to read and/or hear, and to make speed adjustments. I would’ve given it five stars but I prefer human voices to the robotic voice.

Useful but needs emotion
I found this app to be very useful; however as a sighted person never using this type of system, I found the automatic description “robot” voice to be too boring and unemotive.
mcidguy,
Easy to navigate
An important app for those in need of audio description. Easy and intuitive navigation is appreciated.
Hutchshark,
Excellent Resource
I listened to the audio description for Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s unigrid brochure. What an excellent resource that serves to make our national parks accessible for an even larger portion of folks.

An amazing service
These audio descriptions of National park service site brochures make our parks accessible for all.
