This is the official app for the history of Washington, DC’s Union Station. The Beaux-Arts, historic station, designed by renowned architect, Daniel H. Burnham, has served as the region’s largest transportation hub for over a century. In 1964, the District of Columbia designated the building as a historic landmark and it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. In its second century, Union Station will remain a historic and iconic structure, preserved and integrated with modern multimodal functionality.
