If we didn't have established juggernauts...
...then this company might be able to better expand what is undoubtedly an excellent and modern platform for presenting digital graphic novels. I have not seen any other engines quite as novel as this one.
I wrote the creator to commend him about his extraordinary story and platform, and also to find out if there was any way it could be used by non-programmers; alas, he told me that some knowledge in Infinity was necessary, and to have a programmer create something similar was going to be quite costly. This is a bummer because if this engine were more user friendly, I think he would have a gold mine as an alternative company to types like Comixology and their ilk, who just churn out material similar to what you find in a comic book store, rather than material designed for a 21st century tablet. Sigh.
Upgrade Soul is what a 21st century comic book should look and feel-like. Excellent work.

I waited 7 years for this
And it was totally worth it. To be honest, I thought that the creators threw this project in the trash. This was also one of the first times I had spent actual money in the app store. After waiting for over a year, I deleted the app from my phone and periodically checked the app store for updates until I forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when i found out that not only was it updated last year, but that it also was DONE. And now that I just read it, it was GOOD. The story was incredible and the storytelling was flawless. I was rapt the entire time, and I loved how the science concepts were able to hold water (and this is coming from a bio major). Next time don't keep me hanging seven years though, ok?

The best app-comic I've read
Many apps attempt to bring comics up to date for the smartphone/tablet generation, and few succeed. Usually they add flashy animation where the story doesn't need it. Upgrade Soul is a very good comic at its core, and the interactive parts of it work quite well at enriching the story: the panel move cinematically, the music follows your pace, the 3D effects make the world a bit more real. Excited to keep reading the story as it develops!

I’m seriously irritated by the 3D effects. I keep toggling them off, and they keep coming back. It’s very difficult to enjoy the work when it keeps wiggling about. Please fix.

The story is so compelling! Ezra Claytan Daniels writes the creepiest and most thoughtful science fiction I've read. The subtle uses of the comic's technology are really fun and create a unique reading experience!

Just finish it already
Got worn down constantly needing to purchase new chapters and waiting months and years between installments. Just read a good book or graphic novel...this one is interesting but ultimately makes for a very tedious experience.
