Description

Health care providers recommend that patients with overactive bladder or incontinence keep a daily record of liquid intake and voiding details. Usually this means filling out a paper form but with this app, a few clicks on the iPhone record the information as a digital diary. Each entry can be reviewed and edited. The Report feature of the app takes the data and converts it to readable text in a PDF summary file. This file can be emailed to the physician for review and inclusion in the patient's electronic medical record.

Version history

3.3
2015-04-10
This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

Version 3.3 has several new features:
- Custom data entry to record comments, medications, medical device settings. Use with baseline comparison analysis to see effects.
- Allows user to customize maximum toileting volume
- more accurate and wider range for liquid intake entries
- All Entries includes volumes for "at a glance" bladder condition
3.0
2014-08-20
Version 3.0 has been completely re-written to conform to Apple’s iOS7 system. It has a much simpler and unadorned look-and-feel consistent with iOS7 standards. In addition several new features have been added. A new Profile tab allows the user to customize the app by:
Selecting English or Metric units
Selecting a baseline period for comparing pre- and post-therapy results
Recording treatment methods
Accessing the Calendar app for entering or retrieving treatment appointments
The Report tab has been enhanced to allow the user to tailor the reporting period or review previous reports. As in Version 2.2, any report can be either emailed or printed with an AirPrint device and reports are still available in both PDF and CSV (Excel) formats.
The Analysis tab now includes baseline comparisons for frequency, leakage, and urgency.
2.2
2013-03-05
Version 2.2 of the app features enhancements to the Report section. The PDF version of the bladder diary report is now in tabular form, rather than the narrative form of previous versions. This makes it much easier for the health care provider to quickly absorb the information. In addition, a CSV format file is also included so the report may be imported into spreadsheet programs, such as Excel, for additional analysis or charting.

The user also has the option of printing the report to any available AirPrint-capable printer.
2.1
2013-02-07
A new feature was added to allow over-riding the automatic time stamp. This would be useful when a user either forgets to make a entry or their iPhone was not handy when an event occurred. The event can be entered later and the Edit button will allow the user to enter the actual time of the event rather than the current time of the automatic time stamp.

An urgency score is now included in the Report tab.
A minor bug in the Daily Summary part of the Analysis tab was corrected.
2.0
2012-12-06
This is a major revision that contains an Analysis feature to help the patient understand the entry data by presenting it in graphical form. It includes a daily summary showing all liquid intake and voiding for a selected 24 hour period so that trends can be easily recognized. It contains a frequency analysis which might be an indicator for overactive bladder. It presents leakage and urgency data in pie chart form for additional indications of incontinence and overactive bladder. Each graphical display contains a Discussion button to help the patient interpret and control their condition.

Drawneerg,
Worth the price
I've been using this app for two weeks, and I would say it is for sure worth the price. I would recommend a few tweaks to the user interface, but all of the essentials are there. I especially like being able to email myself a CSV file containing all the raw data for analysis. Contrary to some comments here, you can enter any number you want, using the slider (for output, that is).
Csurpent,
Almost good
This seems like it has everything I need except it's nearly impossible to track exact measurements using the slider. If I stop it on 100 the amount changes to 103 when I lift my finger. If they fix this or add a way to type it in exactly I think it would be perfect.
twxee,
Can’t be used for cathing
The one feature I want in this is being able to add volumes catheterized. It’s so strange that it doesn’t have this one basic and important feature.
Tara762,
NOT user friendly
This app is quite poorly designed. There are many, many flaws and things that make it annoying and difficult to use, such as:
1) when making an entry you can choose to record the volume using a range listed (e.g. 100-200 mL) or use a slider bar which is WAY too sensitive. I prefer to record the exact amounts, not the range, but when using the slider it’s difficult to get the exact number. It would be SO much easier if you were able to just type in the amount, but that is not an option.
2) once you make an entry, you cannot edit it. If you make a mistake or leave something out and don’t notice until after your entry is finished, you have to start over and create a new entry because there is no “edit” button. Very annoying and inconvenient.
3) there are multiple choice lists you can choose from, such as the strength of the urge for example (none, mild, strong, severe), but when you select your answer it doesn’t highlight or do anything to confirm that you selected that option, so you don’t know if it’s actually recorded or not.
4) the app is obviously outdated and old. I didn’t read the description carefully enough and didn’t realize that the last update was FIVE YEARS AGO. It’s my fault for not reading closely, but I really wish they would update this app
5) this app is made to be used on iPhone ONLY. I have an iPad that I use regularly and I like to keep my health data & apps on there, not on my phone, but when I opened this app on iPad the screen is only as big as an iPhone screen...the rest is black space. It still works, but it’s tiny on my iPad, which annoys me a bit
In conclusion, this app mostly does its job and records bathroom trips, leakage, and fluid intake, but making an entry is a difficult process that could very easily be improved with an update. The app does its job, but does so poorly, and there are more cons than pros. I haven’t been able to find a bladder diary that works for me, and I was hoping this would be it because the format SEEMS simple...however, as I’ve said, making entries is quite the opposite. I wish the devs would update this because I really want to like it, but the way it is right now, I do not. If it’s ever updated, I am more than happy to edit my review to reflect my experience with new changes. Until then, I rate it 1 star.
Carolyn&Curtis,
Not detailed enough
I was given a paper form from my urologist to record how much I'm drinking and how much I'm peeing. After half a day of using the paper form, I wondered if there was an app for this. Of course there is! But after buying the app and trying to record my numbers I was very disappointed. This app needs some work. The volume amounts need to be more detailed--higher numbers and the ability to choose a number that's not 100/200/300 ml only. What about 150? 225? Sorry this app is not as good as simple paper and pencil.
