Not the best or worst
My knee-jerk reaction was to give this 3 stars. Some promising puzzles were unplayable, and the latter half of the storyline was a jumbled mess so that the next step was never clear.

But, the graphics, voice acting and complex HOPs were first-rate. I also enjoyed the incorporation of elements from Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Thus, I am rounding up my score of 3.5. I may actually play again and focus on getting the many collectibles (including the "souvenirs" available at the very end).
Nothingsmurf,
Amazing effort by Eipix
Eipix isn't my favorite developer when it comes to visuals/artwork but I found this game absolutely beautiful! Yes, it was a bit dark but went with the story and theme of the game. I found myself many times just sitting and staring at the game for long periods just to admire everything about the scene. No glitches, great new story, definite eye candy and everything we look for in a game. I'm actually shocked at the 4 star rating here as this game is far superior in every way than others by them with 5 star ratings. Don't miss this one!

Vermillion Watch: Moorgate Accord Collectors Edition for iPad
The game admittedly is five years old but is still for sale on the Big Fish site and shouldn't be. It was fine until I got to Chapter 5. Pretty sad Guide for this game after that. At least two parts of the actual game do not appear in the Guide at all, so at one point if you can't solve the puzzles presented, tough luck. You're stranded with no way out of that section of the game. I resent paying for a Collectors Edition game that I can't even play to the end, despite multiple attempts to troubleshoot. You'd think this would have been corrected sometime in the last five years, but you would be wrong. Don't waste your money (at least on the iPad version).

Very good
This game has some very interesting puzzles which are new and challenging. I liked that. I only played the free selection but I was impressed by it. I DIDN'T like all the cutscenes, though. Too much talk. And I didn't have any map in the free section. Will it provide one later?

If you skip a game, it will show you the steps you needed to take to complete the puzzle. I like that, too. It doesn't just show you the completed puzzle, like some games do.

I was impressed, though not impressed enough to spend $6.99 on it. It seems I missed the introductory price.

Update:
I started to play it, again, and hated it! It was WAY too dark to see anything. The first HO scene I completed accidentally when using the pinch screen to make it easier to identify things. I kept hitting items I didn’t even see! I got to the house, opened the wall and decided to forget buying this one.

Why they decided to make things so dark is beyond me.

And, I can’t believe I liked this the first time through!
catalina5,
Mysterious Adventure!
Great new series, with a very intriguing storyline. Loved the character voiceovers, location, hidden object scenes which contain morphing objects. Collectibles to find, along with a teleporting map - which is not always available (Keeps those brain cells working!) My only objection was the dark scenes, in which I had a hard time seeing. This however would not have kept me from purchasing or recommending this gem of a game. Great job developers and thank you Big Fish for such great entertainment. 😀 👍

Captivating
This game is wonderful! Challenging! I love the Victorian theme and story line the characters, graphics. Everything!
I rate it four stars because the HO games are too dark. I am seventy years old and my eyes even with my glasses can not see the objects and particularly the drawings of the objects I am supposed to find.
How light a game can be may be a good option choice in the "Options" category. A good many older people play these games so provide for them in your presentations.
hilcat,
Objects too small for iPhone
This game was rather difficult to play because the HOPs had a lot of clues which I could not see clearly enough to play. Skip button used too often because of illegibility issues! The characters were familiar but not well-presented; the game assumes you know all their stories. I didn't care for the voice actors, speaking ponderously in an unnatural accent is boring, not menacing. Too bad, a lot of good characters were wasted. Why use hideously wrong British accents if the actors can't do them well?
Kreiztin,
I'm Impressed
The quality of this game is impressive. The cut scenes are enjoyable (I didn't skip them for once). The objective was interesting. I can say enough good things. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I could not skip some of the puzzles. I always like to have that option. I didn't even mind paying the full price. I can't wait till part 2 comes out!
Todaysgrl,
Good game
I'm with everyone else on that it was a good game, good scenery, etc. what I did have problems with was on the iPhone plus (and I have good eyesight) it was really hard to see the little drawings of the HOS. I can't imagine how people with poor eyesore or a smaller phone would be able to see what was on those little pieces of paper.
Otherwise it was a nice smooth game
MakeItEasier,
Well Done
I like this game (enough to have played it several times) and highly recommend it. In addition to the points made by others I think the music and sound effects are great. My only reason for not giving it a five is the hidden object scenes sometimes had small cards as clues and they were very difficult to see well.
