Description
Bring your whole self to your life as a student, athlete, artist, sorority sister, volunteer, professional, etc.
The one part of our self that we never get to share enough is our emotions, our moods. So many of us have to wear masks each day. Keep up appearances. Put on a smile when that's not how we feel. Or cover up our pride and confidence because we don't want to come off some kind of way to others.
We all have moods that we wish our friends, teachers, coaches, and counselors could be aware of. Even if it's just to recognize that, "Hey! I'm feeling something over here!" Sh*t is hard. Or, I could really use some positive recognition.
VEXT is working to be the vehicle to help teens and young adults share their moods with those around us - our classmates, teammates, dormmates, bandmates, co-workers, teachers, coaches, and counselors.
With VEXT you form groups or join groups with your peers. Those groups can be around your chemistry course, literature class, AP calculus prep, lacrosse team, volunteer project, whatever. Share your mood (anonymously) within the group each day as you collaborate. Trade notes. Ask questions. Work together. And as you do so, share your moods and see your friends' moods together.
On the backend, VEXT aggregates the moods of your class or team to let your teachers, coaches, and counselors know the pulse of your group’s mood. We help them see the WHOLE you - and how you and your peers moods and feelings are fluctuating each day, each week. VEXT shares how you're feeling without them knowing it's YOU who feels this way. #anonymous
We all feel bad sometimes. And sometimes it helps to know your friends or teachers or counselors are aware. Alternatively, you may not be feeling bad, but some of your classmates may be. Join a group and be a positive support on the days you're feeling confident and awesome. Or be a part of the group to be on the other side when you need a lil pick-me-up.
Tell your teachers how you're feeling, anonymously.
Find community with your peers by sharing how you feel.
Collaborate with classmates on a NEW level: with your emotions!
Your mood matters. It's a new way of sharing a part of your whole self. Tracking your moods and feelings as a group humanizes all of us. It helps bring awareness and self-awareness.
