Taylor junkie,
So addicting!
Wow i'm amazed. I'm not easily entertained but this game keeps me satisfied for hours (wish it was the same to the villagers) Don't get me wrong,I love challenging but...this game's super hard! I sit there for days trying to figure out things! Meanwhile,my villagers are starving! Wish the algae would come later in the game, not the first day. That's why i only gave this game 4 stars. It's difficulty may too much. I'm sure some people may agree. I know there's an option where u can change the difficulty but it doesn't help much. Please dumb it down!
Lawdy1956,
Where Are The Sound Effects?
I had the original game but hadn’t played it in several years. One of the problems I experienced was the fact that the sound effects did not work. For example, I found that after playing for a few hours I couldn’t hear the hammers when the builders were building the huts. Also, the noises coming from the lab table disappeared after a while. I finally got the update for my new I Pad and lo and behold, the same problems are occurring. Add to that when I pause the game and turn it back on later, there is no sound at all. I have to fiddle with not only the game sound control, but my I Pad’s as well. This is very discouraging because I enjoy the game. But if something can’t be done to fix the problem, I may wind up deleting it.
emaee416,
I like playing it... but
I liked playing these games on my computer and finally decided to start playing them on my iPhone. I passed the original virtual villagers in less than a week without a restart because I had previously beaten it. What I don’t like about any of the other virtual villagers games going forward is the the original/first lets you buy “boosters” of help like 2x tech point, buying tech point and food. I know everyone isn’t always about pay for a game but without any sort of help on the 2nd and 3rd games I’ve had to restart numerous times. I also have the issue with when I go to pause it, it doesn’t actually pause and all my villagers die overnight. Please fix these issues so I don’t have to cheat and look up help online to try to move to the next game!
ghillieflower,
Love it! But needs update!
I love the virtual villagers series, it's honestly one of my favorite games ever created, and this version happens to be my favorite out of the series, I love everything about it. But I can no longer play it :( the mobile version has some lag with the scrolling, and the most crucial bug is that when you select to pause the game, it doesn't actually pause. Which makes all your villagers starve and die. Last day of work, I don't know if you actually read the reviews on your games, but if you do, please please fix the bugs in your virtual villagers games so I can play them again, I'd really appreciate it :)

Answers to questions
Getting rid of algae/ keeping villagers alive: Start saving tech points as soon as you start the game. Wait to buy level 2 farming and building until algae grows on water. (this way you have more food/ tech points) Farm coconuts and irrigate the stream to start farming. Soon, Narrow down your farmers to about 2 and send all other villagers to research table-- try to have maximum population while doing this so that there will be kids. Send kids to collect mushrooms and continue to save tech points. Buy level 3 farming and send adults to the pond to collect algae eating fish. (need lots of these fish)

jessica1313,
Fun game & great to play to take your mind off stuff & relax
I’ve been a long time fan of the virtual villagers games ever since the first one was released. I’ve successfully played them all. I enjoyed these as time killers or little breaks here & there. Just simply fun. Now my kids enjoy this game as well as the others too. It’s a little challenging but nothing stressful to figure out. I find these fun to play with my kids too. No, it’s not multiplayer (although I hope one day they will offer that) but I sit with them & we do it together. This developer has clearly put time & effort into this game & all the others. Hours of fun! Enjoy!!!
PandazRule,
Two tricks <:D
If you set your ipod's time farther ahead (settings) then things will go faster. I set my time ahead all the time for when I want tech points and use the clock app for when I need the time. I would suggest not doing this if you have little food. Instead, stay around and get mushrooms with the kids.

When you are trying to get a baby, they don't actually have to go indoors. Keep on dropping them on top of each other until your population increases, and then move them
Bobbydownthedrain,
This is how
When farming stay at no more than 13 population. Keep 2-3 farmers on the crops and use the rest for research. And keep it on x2 speed check in every few hours or in the morning to make sure people aren't getting to old once you get to 90k tech points get 3 farming drag master farmer to pond and the will get fish to eat the allege you need 10 of these. Then the allege will disappear and you can start fishing and multiplying your population.
????????????????????????!,
 Tips
To get rid of the birds drag a master farmer over by the rocks. He/she will say they see something shiny and begin to create a scarecrow. To deplete the soil you need lvl2 farming. To get rid of the algae you need lvl 3 farming. After you get lvl 3 farming you need to put master farmers in the pond. This will take a while so make sure you have enough farmers and ur speed is on 2x. Okay, if you need help or have any questions put  in ur title or pinky flower.
Andrew Hogan,
Love this game! Just a few suggestions
I really enjoy these games. I bought all 5 at once! Just a small suggestion if you could ever take it into consideration:
Please throw on a keyboard so I can rename my villagers. I have 3 of them named Hula and 2 Waiata. How can I grow attached to them of they are all named the same?

This can apply to all the other games too. Thanks for such an awesome game!
