Description
There are many kinds of visual symptoms. Some are quite harmless while others need to be taken seriously. Correct interpretation depends on good descriptions but putting foreign sensations into words is often difficult.
The Visual Disorder Atlas pictorial library aims to assist and complement verbal descriptions by providing 40+ symptomimetic illustrations. Most illustrations are interactive and animated.
One and the same symptom may have numerous causes. Therefore, Visual Disorder Atlas cannot make diagnoses on its own. What the app can do is to facilitate precise communication with medical experts. The app can also serve an educational role, by providing a comprehensive overview over visual symptoms.
Visual Disorder Atlas was compiled by Professor Lars Frisén, MD, at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and builds on thousands of descriptions provided by real patients.
