speaking of Animation, we still wish they would release a public version of “Roto shop”! The hand animation program from “Waking Life” etc.

So this is just great. Simple to use and creative. There are minor issues mostly related to large projects with 1000s of blocks. It gets sluggish and vulnerable to crashing in the options menu at that point. I recommend being patient and waiting for the buttons to respond or it can crash. Also a fill area option and making a line would be time savers. Like if you click on a box with line option enabled and it makes a dotted line you can expand until you select done and it fills in the line. That would be useful. But despite small issues it's simply the most fun drawing app in the store. Now add a option for making specific boxes glow and making transparent boxes that would be cool. I made a formula 1 car and I was surprised how much detail you can make with just blocks. It really is like playing with Legos.

Though I warn of a couple of issues. Double tapping to make 2 bricks repeatedly at a time can often cause freezing leading to crashing of the app. Especially with larger projects. And saving your file in the menu when your project is large and causing slowdown can also freeze. The solution I use is to simply exit every few minutes and reload the app. Annoying but honestly the app allows so much creativity I deal with it until a update fixes the issues.

Please update the app to support large files. It gets very slow and sometimes crashes. It makes creating large projects take ten times longer.

If you've ever played Minecraft you already know how to build art in Voxel -- but there are extra tools to make the process more versatile. I plan to use it for designing sprites (build a single model, take screenshots of it in various rotations, and trace in a vector graphics editor -- or just use the raw voxel image, depending on the application).

It's simple and enjoyable to use, and I know of nothing else like it on the App Store. For the price (currently a buck plus another couple bucks to unlock multiple model saves) you can hardly go wrong. It's fun to play around with, but in my case it also promises to be a useful practical tool.

this is one of my favorite apps! I 3d model in autodesk 3ds max so I always wished for some sort of creative 3d app and here it is! I love the concept of pixel art in 3d. my only complaint is the 2 finger rotation. I suggest you add something to the GUI where you can enable or dissable rotation mode at the touch of a button. adding onscreen controls for the rotation like an x,y,z axis rotator would really help the rotation issues. this app has tons of potential and I hope to see future updates! I will be buying the full version soon!

I picked this up on a whim, just to see how a 3d type app felt on the ipad and how navigation felt. Not bad. It could use either a little more tweaking on the multi-finger rotation stuff, or maybe some faint UI guide that's shown when more than one finger is down..

What really surprised me was when our three year old stumbled across it. He thought it was the funniest thing, making stuff rotate and "get smaller!" must have given him a sense of control or something. He'd load new models and then play until they disappeared into the far distance from his accidental zooming (which he seemed to like best).

I love this app! I needed a simple 3-D representation of something I'm designing, but it wasn't worth the time and effort to learn then in and outs of a program like sketch up. Nice and simple and perfect.
Btw, if you're having trouble with the view constantly changing, just switch off that feature in preferences.

The app itself is simply fantastic, and the online part LOOKs really good too. However, the registration mechanism is broken, claiming any email to be invalid no matter what provider or character range. Needless to say I'm a bit bummed about that, but overall it's a very solid app. I'd pay good money for this app, more if the online worked. And at it's current price (free) there isn't a reason in the world to not give it a try. :)

This is a great app. This will be my first 3d program that I will have a complete command of. It is very intutive and is complete with detailed help menu. Also I like the ability to email the images. Works great using the 3Gs. Will you be able to make 3d presentation app for Sketchup someday?

Great app. I really like it. Its great to draw 3D images out of scratch! It's really fun and I can't wait for updates!

 update: I've changed my review to  . New update kills saving feature. That was a stupid move on their part. It was such a great app.

I was making something, and I found out that I made a mistake a long time ago. I have at least 500 blocks, and I don't want to completely reconstruct 250 of them! This wouldn't be a problem if I could just move them all at the same time.

And one more thing, voxel should also use the compass censor (If avalable) to change the view.
