Good but could be great
The instruction itself is excellent. The app stopped working for me and it took 3-4 days to fix which is annoying when you are paying by the month. My main issue is that you can’t review material after you have paid for a course unless you want to continue paying $20 a month for each course you buy. Furthermore, I just finished a course after paying for a few months and I still have most of the month to go. So I have to pay another $20 if I want to start part 2 of the course. $20 a month for any course or buying each course outright would work better for me.

Great App, Content, high quality learning
I have been using VoxGuru since the app came out with self learning modules. Over the years, have found it to be intuitive to use, with neat course material, clear explanations and guided learning. I have also had the pleasure of attending curated workshops by esteemed artists which makes one a kid in a candy shop learning from the stalwarts and made it a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience.
Most recently I had the pleasure of taking online music live lessons and happy to say, this elevated the learning to a new level. Classes meet on zoom, with a consistent dedicated trainer that is very approachable, knowledgeable and passionate. Love the trainer’s ability to motivate learners of various ages and skills- just the right carrot for the right horse. The ability to access the class recordings on the app and upload practice sessions for review is a breeze. The trainer gives timely feedback and has made learning music a lovely experience. Ample opportunities to ask questions and clear doubts.
VoxGuru has shattered yet another glass ceiling making learning music so accessible across the continents, time zones and age groups. Highly recommend this app, the workshops, the course modules and VoxGuru live lessons.

Nice App, Money driven, Payment issues
Have been a customer since December 2019. Paid almost $200 so far and when I requested Vocal lessons the human interaction got real! Don’t get me wrong the instructor was great. Their team consist of 1 person to deal with. It was difficult to communicate at times. Their payment methods have constant issues. They receive payments and claim they can’t see it. I send screen shots and bank statements only to be told it wasn’t enough proof! They make you pay by the month and if you cancel for any reason either it’s their fault or not, they will keep the remainder and cancel classes per the contract. Poor communication and understanding. If your looking for a recording to repeat things than get the app. If your looking to build a true foundation with a company that cares.... this is not the company. They couldn’t even tell me the proper salutation to show out of respect. They just ignore you and pretend like you didn’t say anything. Very Rude! Anyway..... know who your supporting and spending your hard earned money on. Nice app, Bad customer service

A Rare Gem
I have been using the Carnatic basic combo and beginners combo packs for the past 2 months. The highlights of VoxGuru are simplicity, ease of understanding, identifying the core concepts and above all the enthusiasm in presentation. I don’t think there is a single module that’s boring. This app has boosted my confidence and I have hope that in 1-2 years I will able to sing most of my favorite songs comfortably.
There used to be a bug where the video wouldn’t play and app had to be restarted. It’s resolved now. It will be nice if the videos can be downloaded to the phone so that one can use them offline.

Instruction is great, but the app is super buggy
I installed vox guru and purchased two courses - ear training and carnatic. Every time i open the ear training course, it fails to render fully well in landscape or portrait mode. Only a small top part of the video is visible. I have to close the app and do a few trials to eventually get it to render normally in landscape mode.
I bought the carnatic music as the instruction in ear training was very useful. This course however shows a blank white screen with audio instructions. There is no way to even get back to the app homescreen or exit out of carnatic unless i reboot my phone. Very bad user experience.
I am using the latest version of iphone and not sure if it has anything to do with app portability on newer model.

Good instructors, easy to follow but very pricey
Agree with most reviews. Buying a course would've been better option. Asking to keep paying for course even for practice purposes probably is way too money driven. I'm learning at slower pace and that's what I expect from an app. As a result I will end up paying way more than I can afford. $20 recurring monthly for a module is too much. I suggest changes to the pricing model if you want to attract more users.

What to say. I’m a white 30 year old male from USA and I never write app reviews but I absolutely love this app. It is a bit pricey at $20 a month but the content and lessons are quality quality!!! Thank you so much for teaching me Carnatic singing! Carnatic music is one of the most complex arts in the world and to be able to teach it well in a simple and understandable way is a true masterpiece and shows that there are some great minds behind this method and app creation. Thank you.

Great resource to learn at your comfort place and pace
My daughter is learning Carnatic music with Vox Guru trainer for the last 2 years. She has lot of patience and explains the corrections clearly and tries to get best from your kid. The course bundle with master recording and class recording is a great resource to check while practicing. Altogether it’s a great app and team to learn Carnatic music at your pace.

Great curriculum and training
Trainer is excellent and very interactive session. My daughter love her session and the way it’s taught and App is super helpful to keep us in track, if we miss any sessions we have recording to catch-up.
Overall my daughter is happy about her learning and no pressure, so do we.

Will use for my vocal training. I am an absolute beginner in all things musical (not raised musical and never been active in any music related things growing up in schooling) and the lessons are simple and they explain so well what I have always been perplexed about.
