It uses Visual of people saying, with the Osage language shown above the speaker. The quizzes are fun, with the little wahluschka jumping and crunching; it is as fun to get wrong answer as right 😁
When we can use our language freely socially, without being embarrassed, we will have taken a huge step toward preservation. We are like Israelis with Hewbrew, only alive in religion and a few families in 1900. But now, many Israelis only speak Hebrew, and need interpreters when they visit here. Which might be a bit overkill; bilingualism builds bridges between people, which is obviously important in the USA. But Native language really helps preserve Native culture, with other tribes I work with.
This app and the classes will help. I look forward to seeing more and more over time, and can’t wait for more fun quizzes!
