Thoroughly impressive in every way.
Like another reviewer has said, this app demonstrates just how powerful iOS devices can be. Running this on other computers (not the website options) was far slower, and had the computer working VERY hard, fabs running at full speed. It makes me wonder what trick iOS hardware has that enables it to do the same thing as NVIDIA’s CUDA GPU’s. Anyway, I use this all the time for artwork, photos, but most of all, screenshots from games. Not really what it was designed for, but it really makes a difference! Big thanks to the developer for making what is FAR from simple on a computer, very easy and quick on my iPhone.

Model Loading Time Problems
I have been using Waifu2x in IOS for years now with its latest updates and the various improved scaler models but never I had any issues before of literally waiting for them to even start processing the image file regardless of what resolution it is up until just recently. Whenever I refresh the app or turn on my moderately powerful hardware iPhone, it always loads the chosen models first every single time. The main issue is that it takes over a minute just to finish loading a model. I have been using practically the same exact settings before and after I upgraded to a new phone yet it doesn’t make a dent in the annoying long loading times.
It’s not something that brakes the app for its main purpose on what is trying to do but hopefully, this will get patched soon and it’ll make it easier for us to not wait this long to change even over a single image/video than it should. Around five-second load times when choosing a model at least would be very much tolerable regardless that the software app didn’t have any loading times before I made this review.

Needs Work
This MacOS app does the basic functions as expected however there is no information on how to upgrade or how get the full version despite the app clearly stating that upgrade as possible and that it will remove the "trial "labeling to provide full feature set.
***In the developer response, they state there is no full version yet in their very own app it's littered with gold lettered "trial" badges on different options and there's literally a paragraph description claiming that you have to upgrade to get the full version. So clearly this developer doesn't even know what's in his own app!! In addition reviewing an app it's not complaining. It's called a reviewing. Perhaps being less offended and more knowledgeable about your own app would benefit you greatly and provide a better product for users.

The OG anime biggerizer we all needed!
I remember ios 6 when it was a pain to just browse our waifus but now we can upscale our H on our phone to 32k for no reason?! YES PLEASE! Don’t be depressed fellow weebs one day you’ll have a job to pay your favorite artist that phat $$$$ but for now you can upscale her to what res with where shame??
On a serious note the app is great wothout giving users too many controls while still giving some flexibility, even more “casual icons” for the closet weebs. For the dojin readers a folder feature is available 😉😮💨 that alone is worth money if you ask me 😅😳

A amazing tool that’s a vital part of my workflow!
For a cellphone app the capabilities and speed this have meet and sometimes exceed what I can do on my high-spec gaming rig with an expensive GPU and very expensive software!
I love how easy it is to switch between the models, and how easy it is to adjust everything. Titling the models what they’re best at is also a huge help for those of us that aren’t familiar with the model names and what they do!
It was only a few short years ago where making an image larger without resolution loss was completely impossible, and here we are able to do it on a humble iPhone!

This app is my go-to solution whenever I can’t find high-resolution versions of artwork. It even allows me to use Procreate in “lower” resolutions like 2048x2048 and then have them upscaled to a massive 8192x8192 without any noticeable quality issues!
Furthermore, as another reviewer said, this really reveals the raw power that usually lies dormant in Apple’s devices. The Waifu2x algorithm normally requires CUDA and a beefy Nvidia desktop GPU to perform at a decent speed, but this app takes advantage of Metal Performance Shaders is Core ML (based on a setting) and runs really dang well on modern iOS devices, especially those featuring Apple’s Neural Engine.

Alot more than an anime upscaler
The models supported in this app allow you to upscale any type of image easily.
Very professional app with a clean and efficient interface for quickly upscaling images. I love using this to screenshot diagrams and then upscaling them to add to my notes.
Best part is the "upgraded" version is not a monthly subscription. Well worth the money.

It won’t preserve the smart hdr highlights
I don’t know if it is the issue of iOS not giving the full file to this app, or if it is that the upscaling process of this app throw away some information of the original photo, but whatever it is even when I set the output format to heif, it still wouldn’t preserve the full dynamic range of the original photo. I don’t want to pay for more AI models if this problem isn’t fixed.

So darn good at upscaling my art
I love this app so much. I've been creating a ton of AI art, lately mostly manga related stuff. Having to use my Mac to upscale really broke my workflow. I really love having the ability to upres my files right on my iPad and even my phone. I did have to upgrade to get the one that does anime best, but it's so very worth it. I love the quality of the output.
