Fitbit Syncing is not good - Update
*Update* It finally synced! It looks like it appears to be good to go now. Still 4 stars since it's pretty similar to all the other tracking on the market, but it's a solid app.

Walker Tracker for some reason won't pull steps from previous days. So if you sync your steps early in the morning to Fitbit and then don't sync again until the next day, Walker Tracker will only show the low count from the previous day. I used to be able to get it to manually sync and they would fix the issue, but with the recent my revamp of the website, it is no longer possible. Even worse, it won't let you edit your steps for that day to manually add them if it has any data for that day from Fitbit. No way to manually add it... Basically makes the Tracker part of Walker Tracker useless. I wouldn't use this app if I didn't have to through my work. Used to be really great and just fine (even if annoying) when manually syncing worked.
razzberry sassafrazz,
Could be better
I like that the app is compatible with my phone and Fitbit but it has some mechanical issues. So far for me I have to be very conscious of the time because after midnight it’s very hard to get it to sync data from the day before (even only second after it strikes 12). I use it for a competition and I got cheated several thousand steps just because of this issue. Other members in my team registered zero steps because the app doesn’t automatically register your steps if you don’t open the app up daily. It could function a little better for conversation with team members. Also when you take a picture with the app it doesn’t save to your phone so in order to keep the picture you’d have to screenshot it or take the picture with your camera first and then upload. Little things could make it a better app. That said, it works well for the competition because we all use the same platform to keep our tallies. These issues are just a source of frustration, especially because competition usually means you’re trying to win and the app is causing me to do more work than I need to by not functioning as effectively as I would like.
rakelleyjr,
Fitbit frustrations
I sync my Fitbit to Fitbit’s cloud/Internet presence, I wait 10 minute, and then I check with this app ( because this app is used by our organization). If I am lucky, the count it claims to have gotten from Fitbit’s site (which I had to give it permission to access, and too much permission in my opinion) is wrong/old by 6 hours.

This makes things DISCOURAGING because now I appear to be a slacker (which right now, I am). This app has never been perfect with Fitbit products/website (I have owned 3 different types of Fitbit devices), but right now, it is the pits.

I gave it 2 stars because like a broken clock, it may be right twice a day.
Unhelpful/Bad Customer Service,
Terrible Customer Support
I am using this app for a walking contest my company is hosting. For the first few days I was using my Health App on my phone, but I then acquired a Fitbit and synced that to the app. It ended up deleting all of the data I logged the first few days.

I have been requesting help from the support team for over two weeks. They initially told me to send them any dates and steps I needed to manually add back in and they would correct it for me. I have sent them multiple messages with the information. They have since sent me multiple messages with instructions on how to manually add steps myself, then informed me that adding steps manually was not enabled for the contest I was in, and said to once again send them the dates I needed added back in and they could do it for me. I sent them the dates AGAIN last week, and received no response, acknowledgment of the message, OR have seen my steps added in. I just sent them another request this morning. We shall see if they even bother to answer. Truly truly horrible customer service and I’m starting to question whether it’s a Bot responding to me and not a live person at all.
ASL4U,
very difficult to figure out where to find information
ai’m trying to manage my group -i dont see anything in the app that will let me manage it there -there’s no clue -no help… its a little frustrating. I am assuming this whole group activity only really works on the computer -not in the app… kind of disappointing -I want to be able to see this on my phone.

3/2 now that I’ve used it a while -I’m dropping my rating by another star-this app is unreliable. It doesnt sync with the iPhone (nor any pedometer from what i can see in out large group activity) I hope it gets better -but right now its hard to use -its not a social app so you cant really meet the people you’re supposedly walking with and I cant find things that I have accidentally found in the past. Like I wander around in the app and I find something and go back and try to retrace my steps and I just never find that thing / comment -again. very stressful - and not a lot of fun… and I’m on a 3month walk in this app… so … possibly gonna be a long walk…
M*nxy,
Self reporting ruins competition
I wouldn’t recommend using this for any sort of competition. Looks like you can just manually enter activity and it will convert it into steps. I was very discouraged once I saw that I was consistently beat at the end of the day by someone entering in activities.

It seems like this is a common complaint but the responses from the company just gloss over how this is an obvious flaw. They are unable to accommodate people that may not want to carry their phone or get a wearable. It’s a competition! There needs to be a way to be held accountable. It should at least be made very obvious on the leaderboard how many are real steps and how many steps are activity steps.

I was really excited about this competition and am very discouraged to even participate. What’s the point when someone can just add steps and beat you. Will be deleting and no longer participating. I even spoke to others at my company and they feel like it’s pointless to try. We have a month long competition and the “winner” has been adding activities so will probably win it in a week or two. Wow. Not fun and kind of has made me despise some coworkers. Haha.
GVegas18,
Good, but I have concerns
Overall, this app is user friendly and appeases the eye; however, I’m a little thrown when you add an activity that it automatically adds steps to what you’ve already accomplished. For example, you can’t just state that you’ve gone running without it adding steps to your total, which were already added when you were running. This concerns me when it comes to the legitimacy of the challenges because it seems that some people are achieving more steps than they’re actually attaining. Plus, when you’re using a fitness app, you want it to be accurate so you know what you’re really accomplishing and can set future goals. With that said, I do like that the app is able to convert so many different activities into steps, such as swimming, when you aren’t able to have your device (phone) with you.

Above and Beyond
I have been using this app for a few months now and it is very inspirational. I have a Fitbit but walker tracker goes above and beyond in recording my workout data. There are even challenges and teams to compete with each other. Our company is doing a challenge right now with all of our North American locations in a friendly competition. It just motivates us to walk and stay more informed with our health and personal fitness goals. Great for team building too! I would highly recommend this app!!
Kitjams,
Motivational
I amLoving this app and the challenges that it brings to my life. It is motivating me to do better each day so far as my eating habits and my exercise goals especially. I believe the greatest competition exist within one’s self when we make it a goal to strive towards excellence. To be better today than we were yesterday! Then being able to look back and to see the progress we have made. I’m excited to run on and see what the end will be as I continue to better myself!!!
Thank you
Jan-true,
Design needs work
Having white or grey, tiny font on a yellow or similar background is difficult to read. All pages on the app are difficult to read. The font should be bigger and white should not be used. The concept of using an average rather than actual steps serves no purpose. It provides no motivation. The map is difficult if not impossible to read. Milestones can’t be found, which are important to keeping participants motivated. Total steps are impossible to read-again font size, color & background.
