Music makes the ball field come to life but until now being the ballpark DJ wasn’t easy.
Walkout Song DJ is here to make it simple to have every field filled with that pump-up music every athlete loves and needs for those big games.
Walkout song DJ makes the difficult task of playing a walkout song for each individual batter as easy as tapping a button. Simply enter the player name and number then select a song from your iTunes library. The precise segment from that walkout song can then be set by selecting a position and playback duration using a simple and precise editing view. Press the play button and 11 seconds later you have one pumped-up batter, and a song that smoothly fades as the batter steps up to the plate. You can also choose between imported, recorded, or computerized text-to-speech announcements for your players before, after, or mixed with their walkout song.
The game doesn’t stop between innings so why should the music? Walkout Song DJ has a view dedicated to inning break songs. Just as before, select a song from your iTunes library and set a position and duration. Since inning breaks are usually two minutes long and most songs are over three minutes, Walkout Song DJ can automatically fade the song out before the start of play. That allows the human DJ to take a break or get a hot dog, and not have to worry about the music interrupting the game.
There is also one-touch access to a situational music view. These are the songs that add character to the game, such as your national anthem, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Jeopardy Theme Song, your team fight song and anything else that fits!
For pre-game music, there is a pre-game view that allows you to select a group of songs from your library and arrange them in a simple playlist to play without interruption and help the athletes get “in the zone” during warm ups.
If you happen to be a dedicated ballpark DJ and have multiple teams to DJ, don’t sweat it. Walk-Out Song DJ makes it possible to create and save song pages for multiple teams.

Please NOTE: The only subscription music source that will work with this app is Apple Music. The app is unable to access files from subscription sources like Spotify, Amazon Prime, Google Music, Tidal, or Napster because those services either have no third party offline playback interface or will not allow use of their interface with a third party commercial application. I have requested commercial approval from several of them and have had no response. The app will also work with standard music files either purchased from iTunes or imported to your device from email attachments or from cloud storage services.

Best App for Walk-Up Songs
Hands down the best walk-up song app and worth the price!!
I hope the developer see this. First I want to say you are a genius to create this app and by continuing to make great enhancements. I love this app. I have no complaints at all but I would love a small enhancement to help my bad memory. For the inning break songs, is there a way to allow free text. I never can remember if the song is upbeat, downbeat, or if it is an offense or defense song. I like having the song name and artist but adding the additional free form text like the situational songs would be awesome! Please help me out with this!

So close to being perfect
Although it took me some time to get my music to work with the app (I finally just imported my songs), this app has been spot on for what our high school team needs. The only adjustments that I would LOVE to see are:
1: The ability to hand type the time edits in addition to using the +/- micro adjustments. It takes sooooo long when you’re scrolling through a song by the one-tenth of a second. A lot of the kids have told me where to start exactly in their walk up song, so having the ability to just type that in and then use the +/- for fine tuning; that would save so much time.
2: The ability to categorize pre-game music. We have pre game fan music, followed by home team warm up music for in and outs and then visiting team warm up music for in and outs. It would be nice to be able to have the songs separated into their own groups.
3: The ability to categorize situational sounds and songs. Sometimes we have multiple sounds that we use for foul balls, etc. This one would be a bonus....but isn’t necessarily a game changer. I’m sure with more practice, I’ll be able to find the sounds I’m looking for more quickly.
I’m really looking forward to continuing this season with this app it really does change the dynamic of the game. We can use Hammond organ sound bites to give us the pro experience. Fans love it. Coaches love it and the kids absolutely love it. Well done.

Absolutely disappointed
So, I have used this app for quite a few years now. There has always been little issues here and there. But this season, it’s been absolutely AWFUL! No songs play, unless it decides it wants to. Only the player announcement will play. My girls look forward to being pumped up by their songs, and they get let down. I’ve uninstalled, deleted all line ups and started over, reset, EVERYTHING! Never an issue before, now I want to just delete it and never look back!!! I thought maybe it was my speaker (the one I’ve been using for years), so I bought a new one. Same issue! Okay, maybe it’s my phone. So bought and paid for it on my daughters phone. Guess what! SAME ISSUE! Okay cool. Maybe it’s because we have the same phone model. Used my husband’s, you guessed it……SAME ISSUE! Yes the songs are downloaded to my phone from Apple. It does not give me the warning when I play them. It just doesn’t flippin play. Fix this PLEASE! I want to use this for our girls. They love the walkup songs.

Great App!!! Couple of bugs to put to bed
This app is great!!! Love the different tabs for pregame, situational, walkout, etc… Sometimes when I play songs on the pregame tab and change to a different song, the first song will keep playing slightly lower volume than the 2nd song I picked. Also would like to see a volume meter on the on the top dashboard. For some reason I’ll be playing music on the pregame loud and then go to play a walkout song and the volume will not be at the same level as it was playing at. Same goes for on the walkout tab, the volume from player to player varies and is not set. I’ll play one and it will be fine and the next one will be at minimum volume and I’ll have to try and quickly increase the volume. Appreciate your consideration to these matters.

Best app for the press box!
This is the only app I need in our high school press box. Very easy to use even when the boys want to change walk up music mid-game😵💫.
Developer note: it would be great to have a soundboard type display with buttons in the situational tab. I find myself scrolling trying the right sound effect between pitches and other situations. I keep thinking a sound board would make this much easier😂. Not sure how hard that would be but it would sure help.

Love it but how do I move players to match batting order?
UPDATE: Now I really love the app! The developer got back to me quickly with my questions and provided easy instructions. This app is great and makes music and announcements so easy. The players and fans love it!!!
So far I’m loving this app…setup was easy and I love the features. Haven’t used it yet at a game and I’m foreseeing a couple of challenges especially with question 1 below. 1. How do I move players from active to inactive and/or to match the batting lineup? 2. When I go to tech support, it’s asking me if I received my registration email? Uhm…this was an app download on my iPhone. There hasn’t been any transactional email.

Fantastic app
I never write reviews for apps this is the first because this app is fantastic. We use this for our girls 14u travel team for softball the girls absolutely love being able to walk out to their favorite songs.
Umpires love the fact that they’re 10 second clips and they automatically shut off. Don’t hesitate worth every penny, and it’s super easy to set this up and make modifications on the fly.
One piece of advice completely independent of the app let the umpires know what you’re doing before the game and typically they’re fine with it.

Fantastic and Improved!
I contacted the developer last year regarding adding a feature to record the player names and #'s rather than having to use the digitized voices. I told him that the inability to record was keeping this from an excellent program. He came through! I really like the pregame, between inning and situational song categories. The app easily transitions between these categories and the lineup walkout songs and player announcements. Great job! Thank you for being so responsive and creating a very functional app!

Fantastic Customer Service and product
This is an awesome app and the customer service is fantastic. I ran into an issue and the developer personally worked with me to resolve the issue. You don’t see this type of customer service often. I would highly recommend this app for anyone playing music at the ballpark. I tried several other apps before finding Walkout DJ and none are even close.

Anyone else have muting issues?
I just started using this app and love how super easy and user friendly it is. So easy I can easily download more songs in between innings.
However, I'm having an issue with the volume. After I play 3-4 songs it's locks my phone into the mute position. Once it locks up I can't unsure it on any of my apps. There is no rhyme or reason and there's no magical way to unlock it. I just leave it alone for a while and it starts working again. Frustrating when it locks up at key times in the game. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Thanks!
