NCIceman,
Fun logic puzzle game
This is a fun little logic puzzle game. It has a simple, clean execution, without fluff to get in the way. It makes an excellent diversion to play for a few minutes at a time, or for a larger chunk if you want to stretch your mind.

My only recommendation, as a developer, would be to change some of the user interface elements to match the graphical style, like the reset dialogue, and to consider adding larger ship types that take up four spaces, although with the grid size used that might make the puzzle too obvious.

Fun game, looking forward to seeing more from this developer.
Mudak326,
Room for improvement
Let me start out by saying that what this game does, it does well. It's well-thought out, with puzzles whose difficulty is appropriately labeled. Furthermore, there are enough puzzles at each difficulty level that, by the time you've completed one set of puzzles at a given level, you've trained yourself to the next level.

But there's definitely room for improvement. The most glaring problem is the fact that, at least as far as I can tell, there are no battleships that span four grid spaces. Furthermore, it would've been nice to have been given a simple explanation of the controls without going through an entire tutorial. Both of these items are fixable in the execution of the game. In the end, I feel that the developers of this game would be well-served to take a look at the gameplay of any of the eight logic puzzle games created by Conceptis, Ltd., for what should be relatively minor improvements to the app, which would make a major impact on its quality.
Muhlakai,
Like sudoku? Get this now!
Although some of the puzzles (mostly at the start) are patently simple, the challenge and logic kicks up fast. You need to develop a very sudoku-like set of rules to determine placement. If there's one downside, it's that where sudoku puzzles always have a next step that you can deduce, you frequently get the first few steps and then have to deduce the next dozen before you know where anything goes. You can spend a lot of time either staring at an early point of the puzzle or trying out guess after guess. It's way more fun than it has any right to be, though, and provides good value for the money.
Gr8Protector,
Better than paper!
I've played the paper version of this game, and thought I would miss having the ability to mark possibilities (a shortcoming, in my opinion, of many such games). But for some reason, the ease of choosing "ship, sea, or space" is so great with this app that I find myself intuiting things that I would have needed marks for in a paper version.

Of course, I'm only in the Lieutenant level still...

In any case, it's a roughly enjoyable version of a game I really liked on paper, and that's rare.
Mikey_1988,
Part logic, part guessing
I wish it was heavier on pure logic, but the majority of puzzles end up with some guesswork. I used a couple hints just because I was too lazy to work through all the permutations on certain levels. Instead of tapping undo a dozen times for each guess, it might be cool to just tag the board just before the guessing begins and then have a single “undo everything back to the tag” button. All in all, a really fun game that took about 4 hours to finish.
VelvetPorkRind,
A fantastic way to escape daily grind.
I have enjoyed playing this game every evening before bed. There are no timers, no in-app purchase, and most of all no annoying ads. This is just a very fun sudoku-style logic game with enough variation that once the entire game is completed at every level of advancement, you can start over or just select a random level. I look forward to other projects from this developer. A big "thank you" for putting fun back into tablet games.
cakelatdy,
Great solitary game with a different twist
Game made for logics and puzzles. I enjoyed it at my own pace, no timers. Multiple levels with each level harder to figure out than the last. First levels are easy, but don't get complacent! Each level has 25 puzzles, and you get 10 hints to use for the entire game. After you finish, you can start it all over again or play your favorite set over. I've had a lot of fun with it. Not like any other game I've tried.
Lord Greywether,
Challenging but too short
The only complaint I have to lodge is that there is not more content.

Warship Solitaire is a cross between Battleship, Sudoku, and Minesweeper. It starts off with straightforward puzzles that can be solved step-by-step with logical deductions. As the puzzles get more difficult, you have to start making hypotheses, testing them, and eliminating arrangements that don't work.

It's a beautifully simple yet challenging puzzle game.
Arniesea,
Awesome logic game! Stretches the brain.
I love this game! I am up to "Lieutenant" level already. As advertised in an interesting mix of battleship and sudoku.

My only complaint is I would like to be able to see my completed game board once I successfully complete that level. Instead a congratulations splash screen is displayed so the only way to review my game is to export the completed game to the Notes application. That is just too much darn work!

Otherwise an excellent game that has kept me intrigued for a few days now.
Persnickety,
I like it!
This is a puzzle that keeps me thinking! Works on iPad and iPhone.
Am wondering if this might help anyone having trouble with forming the ships' shapes:
Even after the training, I'd forgotten that when placing a ship in its correct place, it doesn't actually form the ship (no gray block), until all boxes around it (including diagonal!) are marked as water...As no two ships are to touch at all. Once I remembered that, the ships formed properly.
