Had problems, now fixed
Update: They fixed the issue with access for prior customers so we don’t have to pay again. Fun again! Has some minor bugs (if you lose against AI, the game freezes, like it doesn’t know what to do). Otherwise this is my current go-to time killer.

They moved everything I paid for behind a paywall, meaning I’d have to pay again to play the app I’ve already paid for and played for years. Plus new design is so much slower and convoluted. Terrible job on the part of the company. Shame, it once was fun.

Skill doesn’t matter
I have played 600 rounds of this game. I know it well. Fun to play! But there is a big downside. Your chance of winning depends on whether the roll of the dice works. Of course, right? It’s a dice game even in the physical world. The problem is that this game seems to use “weighted” probability. Some turns you seem to have super powers and instantly defeat all armies. Other turns you can waste 10 armies trying to defeat a 2 army opponent. Sometimes a country is randomly impossible to defeat. Yes it’s a form of random, but it does not run parallel to a simple random roll of the dice. There are so many random variables that after 600 games, my percentage of wins is 25%. Some rounds you can use skill, other times, your whole turn is a dud where your armies can’t beat anybody. All the layers of randomness were probably added for variety, but they end up overpowering skill. The result is that this game is more like a slot machine than a game of skill. It’s a slot machine with good music, and little battles, and is fun. But at the end of the day, as best I can tell, your chance of winning is basically random depending on a variety of randomized factors in the game (not to mention players who randomly quit and throw the dynamic out of balance as well.)

Why did you force this update on me?
I purchased the original Blood and Honor game. It was add free and had full functionality. This forced update to version 5 is not a welcome improvement. The entire interface has changed and is a lot smaller on my phone. I lost the ability to choose different theater maps. Now I have to purchase the ones I already could play on before. World domination map is now gone! Where is the setting that allows me to choose which countries I want to put my troops on instead of just a computer randomly spreading my armies across the world? This is a completely different game and not what I purchased! Please allow me to continue to play version 4. How can I download version 4 again? Greedy developers! I already paid you once and will not pay you again! This version five is a completely different game! I do not want it and I want my old version back!

Completely different game mode now the only mode
Been playing for years. Then they introduced a new game mode with the new build (3 moves only per round). At first this new mode was just an option, but you could still enjoy the old school game rules if you wanted in single player. Now it’s not an option, it’s the only way to play. Not sure why they decided to scrap the rules that made the game so fun and popular in the first place.

Friendly play has also been mostly eliminated since adding a variety of ranked matches. So, if you want to play one of the more fun maps or with custom settings, you rarely can any more.
Really frustrating. This game used to be so much fun and worked great, but with the never-ending changes that take forever to figure out, game freezing up from poor design, etc. I probably won’t be playing for much longer. Bummer.

Read recent reviews before updating - if you can!
The “update” installs a completely different version of the game. The maps are gone (unless you buy new ones). Settings for AI players are gone. It’s frustrating to play and has far too much animation.

Great game
I here a lot of wining about double teams but the point system is set up to help you advance regardless and as your skill improves its the ability to overcome that is most gratifying . My only complaint ... The game used to display the players ranking along side name , but doesn't now since the last update . Would like to see that return as I have made level 10 and would like to display my badge to opponents from prior games lol . I worked hard for it . Thanks I'm a fan !

Good but needs improvement
The app has provided me with hours of entertainment, but I have noticed, even on the hardest of settings, the computer player lacks particular skills. Such as making the obvious choice of completing a particular target area to maximize resources gained at the beginning of each turn. It would rather fight a loosing battle over and over again instead of rethink its strategy. It makes the computer very predictable.

Played this purchased game for at least 7 years. Upgrades were originally just tweaks that mostly improved the game. Then a bunch of new maps, features made it still ok but became harder to find online players. So I deleted it for a few months and decided to see if it was different. OMG it sure was! They now force paid customers to play one game mode, and restrict options that used to be present unless they pay a monthly fee to become a “VIP”! What was once a great version of the game Risk has just become an unrecognizable money begging disaster. Too bad they killed it. R.I.P. :year of death 2019

Ruined by the update!
I used to play this game almost every day. It was a quick way to switch off my brain for 10 mins and relax while taking a break.
Post update, it removed all the maps and hid them behind a paywall. You also need to pay money to use different colors. Want to play as a different country, guess what, it costs money! Not to mention the actual gameplay is 1000% worse than before and takes forever.
You left this perfectly good game alone for years and ruined it with with one stupid update.
