Jjjabavsbdj,
A well made salt and sanctuary alternative
8 bucks for this game is a very fair price. Combat is decent, the game is well put together, I’ve only encountered 1 bug. When farming souls or whatever the currency is called. Sometimes the arrow marker will get stuck, and block the pause menu. A quick restart will fix it. Story isn’t really existent, just spawn in a tomb and kill things. You meet some side characters along the way. Wish the story and lore was more in depth. As far as a mobile salt and sanctuary style game. Really couldn’t ask for more. Developer did a good job cross utilizing the world map, regions are seamless, a lot of encouragement to explore. My main issue with the game, is you have to be aware of where your hands are, if playing with a touch screen, if any part of your hand is touching the screen when you try to do a command, it doesn’t register, or it spazzes out, and you’ll be rolling when you don’t want to be. Monster hunter freedom unite was the only mobile game I’ve played, that didn’t have that issue. All n all a great job done by the dev. Haven’t beaten the game yet, hit a wall with one of the bosses, which is what I like about a souls style game. Hoping there’s a ng+, will edit when I finish my first play through. Currently level 80. Update: Don't grind umbra! Made the mistake of farming, now I face tank everything.
Epslion28,
Interesting idea not fleshed out
This is one of the rare souls-like genre games that exists for mobile Giving it already a interesting concept however I cannot give it fills stars for lack of customization early on, you do not have a option of weapon and are automatically given a bow and sword with later on being given weapons the only souls-like aspect is the difficulty of the bosses there is no extremely complicated system but it would be interesting to see parry implemented early on this game however has a interesting combat system with stamina and a large amount of variables that is involved in combat. 4/5 I would recommend this game

Major potential
I played through the free area of the game, and to my surprise, it wasn’t bad. Already off on the right foot compared to most games on the App Store claiming to be a souls-like. The controls felt a little clunky, but judging by the multiplayer section I’m assuming the game is meant to be played on controller; which I imagine would feel much better. The style of the game is great, and the combat is surprisingly enjoyable. I would love to rate this game higher, but I don’t think I can give it higher than 3 stars if I can’t justify paying for it. I really enjoyed what I played, but I definitely didn’t see enough to want to pay $8 when I was done. That doesn’t mean the game isn’t worth $8, and if the free section had been longer it is very possible that I would have changed my mind. However with what I had access to, I don’t think I would’ve been willing to pay more than $3. Either way, awesome to see a souls like on mobile with some heart in it. I hope to one day be willing to pay what the developers ask, but for now this is all I have to say.
Soccerl4d,
Fun, challenging but needs some QoL
Fun game so far! Just beat the first watcher. Just lacking a bit in the information and ease of use department. No idea how umbra and dying work, I think if I die again before getting my last dropped umbra then it’s gone forever. Not sure what this expensive 8k key I bought is. Ascension is weird - I didn’t know what I was doing and now my stat points aren’t allocated in the right way and will have to save 10k to re-do them. Would love a map that’s a bit more fleshed out as I’m not sure what I’m looking at. Controls can be a bit clunky to use reactively.

Core gameplay is super fun though! I’m really looking forward to upgrading and getting more gear.

Great game
Love this game very fun. My only recommendation is to add the option to change the placement and size of the buttons on screen. Also turning off touch swipe buttons when there are the buttons on the phone. Sometimes I will shoot an arrow just touching the screen and not the actual arrow button. I know it sounds like I am harping on the game but it is well worth the money and your time!!
EliAgain,
Great game for the $8
I am a huge fan of the souls series and honestly , this game is wholely worth the $8 price tag. I actually would have paid a bit more out of hindsight. Very simple yet polished controls. The graphics are very crisp for a mobile game and I never experienced any noticeable frame loss while playing.

It mimics the souls playstyle and I was very fond of it within the first area. To keep the review short, if you enjoy the souls series, I highly recommend this game.

My only tidbit of advice - playing with a ps5 or other controller will likely make the experience a little more enjoyable. The controller feels a lot more natural and responsive with how fast you need to react in certain situations.

Great job to the devs!
DragonHammer5000,
Great game, terrible controls
Don’t bother unless you have a controller. Plays well using a Backbone, but is nearly impossible to play using the touch controls. If you were able to customize them by moving them or mapping them differently on the screen that may help. The combination of weird placement and some actions requiring swiping makes the touch controls a complete mess though.

Weapon and stat balance is a mess. Hotboxes are terrible. Was really hoping for some decent tier souls like 2d gaming, but this is cartoony awful in its current state.
Darg-Nira,
Holy Crap!
This is a good game. Like no joke this is one of the best souls like I’ve seen on the Apple Store. It’s got good mechanics, the first boss fight was great with intense music and you having to learn his move set. Admittedly there are a few mechanics that need polishing but the most part is pretty good. I am actually excited to play this game and discover the world within.
darivaug,
Great game
This was a very fun a challenging game…. Until it said I had to pay for the full version and was very disappointed. But I have respect for the developers because they respond to what people disliked and he try’s to fix it. So your game deserves a 5 star even though you got to pay for it.
tIRISH66,
I really enjoy it just wish it was either premium up front or a Free to play.
It’s seriously fun, I’ll most likely get the full version depending on further play. However downloading it just to see it’s a trial game was kind of spotty. I advise to make the fact it’s a premium game more up-front.
