I just wanted to post a review from the stand point of someone who understands what goes into game creations and limitations of softwares I think this game is fantastic so far. Not everything is running perfect, no one should blame webkinz at all for that either the game literally just came out. KNOWING this ISNT a replacement to classic webkinz I grew up playing and continue to play, I love the differences in each game because when I get bored with one I can hop to the other and back and forth. It is a shame that we can’t transfer our old pets over but I totally understand that the difference between Flash and the software used in the new game would make it completely impossible, but I feel that the veteran players who’ve spent quite a lot of money in the classic game should be rewarded for it in the newer game, that would definitely make SOME of the veteran players happy, like me. I’m excited to see what you all do with this new game!!

Those of us that have been playing on what is now known as “Classic” Webkinz, have been asking for, begging for, Ganz to update and improve certain things in Webkinz World, for years! Well, they did, but not on “Classic” Webkinz. Instead they made this monstrosity. Yes, I did download it and play it, but it didn’t take long for me to see that THIS new version of Webkinz World was going to push The now “Classic” Webkinz to the back. We have begged for doors to be removed, but “No!, but they did it on the “New” Webkinz. The ability to put more than two items on a table. The ability to angle an item like a chair. And, Bring back the stuffed pets and trading cards. Again, “No!” I realize that Flash is going away at the end of the year, and the PC desk top app has literally “saved” Webkinz for us, but WHY did you have to waste time AND money creating something “New”, when all you really needed to do was to bring back the plushies, trading cards, fix all the virtual items that haven’t worked in years, stop making so many items cost e-points instead of KinzCash, and most of all remember that Webkinz is played, bought and paid for by ADULTS, not children. Children lose interest really fast. We don’t. However, if you don’t improve the “Classic” Webkinz, you might lose your biggest Cash Cows. Your ADULT players. We have the money, not the children.

Webkinz is going to go bankrupt
This game is literally so horrible, and as a longtime Webkinz fan I’m very disappointed in Webkinz right now. They used to be such a great company, and everyone loved their plush. Ever since they got rid of Webkinz Signatures, everything has gone downhill. We had to wait two years and we were so excited to get the original Webkinz plush back and THIS is what we get?! This is insane. Close to nobody likes this, and anyone that does is absolutely insane. I’m going to be completely honest: This is a last minute hope that their company will get popular again. Everything in the game is overly expensive and the game is poorly made. The new rainbow unicorn and rainbow golden retriever is all a gambling game. The mentally ill people that are so desperate to get them literally end up spending $400 on a stupid knock off beanie boo. Not to mention that beanie boos are way cuter and way higher quality. And they aren’t $400, they’re $7. And the people that are trying to give this game a chance end up spending like $50 trying to get one and they end up getting NOTHING. Webkinz, this is very disappointing and I hope you listen to your fans and decide to bring back the old Webkinz plush before you go completely bankrupt. I’m surprised nobody on the staff has realized how completely stupid this is.

Somewhat Enjoyable… but Hard to Look At
I’ve been playing Webkinz for a really long time, since I was a little kid. I haven’t started playing Webkinz Next until recently and I’ll admit it’s kinda fun. If you’re a Webkinz fan already, there’s some of the core aspects that you’ll be familiar with to keep you entertained.
There’s one major, glaring issue however… this game is so very, very ugly. I will say the game has gotten better since launch with updates but it looks just as bad as it did the moment it came out. The models of the pets and the other characters are so uncanny with their eyes, and the textures—even at the highest graphical level—are so crunchy and… ugly! It’s so disappointing because Webkinz classic, what was essentially a flash game from the mid-2000s, looks way better than it’s successor. Even the stuffed animals themselves are just creepy, with their big, round, glassy and soulless eyes.
I would enjoy this game so much more if it wasn’t so… uncomfortable to look at. It’s mean, perhaps, but everybody’s thinking it.

Still needs some love!
I started playing Webkinz when it first came out, on PC. I had collected upwards of 50 plush toys and spent waaaay more time in-game than I probably should have lol. The daily login incentives (Wheel of Wow; Wishing Well; Jumbleberry Fields; Bingo; etc etc) and tournaments (especially Goober’s Lab; the cooking competition; and the fashion game) were some of the main draw-ins for me.
I recently picked the game back up, and now I explore both Classic and Next daily (right back to that way more time than I should category 😅😂). Long Time Webkinz Fan Approved!
I’ve been playing Webkinz since almost the beginning. Since 2009! Ganz is an amazing company, this re-imagining of the classic game is very faithful to the original. I feel like it allows Ganz to more easily and actively respond to their players having the game be mobile friendly. Everything is smooth and the gameplay is very fun and sweet. There’s surprisingly a lot to do at this point even though they are still working on the game and adding more features. Very similar to how the original game was back in the 2000’s! I couldn’t be happier with how Ganz is handling Webkinz’s legacy, the fact that they took the time to port the original into a desktop app. Along with pouring so much love into this new game! I’m supporting Ganz as long as i can, and you should too! This is such a fun game and it’s honestly the best thing to come out of the 2020’s! Play it now!

I want it to be better.
I grew up on webkinz classic, so when I heard they made a new webkinz game I was a bet skeptical, since I still play webkinz classic till’ this day. But this isn’t a review for classic. Where do I start, well, I’ll start with the pros of this game first. I like the doors? Their better then before. I also like the “advanced placing option”, it pretty much makes you place items wherever without being locked to a grid. I also like how GANZ kept classic. That was very smart. It’s clear their trying their best. That’s all I like. Now to the cons, the main thing of course is the animation. It just looks god awful, I get I 3D is cool but it would of been better if it was just 2D like classic.
The new plushies look awful too. There isn’t much to like about this game, why play this when we already have classic? Guess we’ll never know. This game could be great, if it was to revamp and change the style and gameplay. This has a chance, I just wish it was better, because I really wanted this to be good.

Better than the original!
As an adult who grew up playing the PC version, I was so upset when I logged in to find the Classic game had become mainly about having eStore points and being a member. There’s almost nothing to do on there now. I do love the layout of this game though more than the first one. It seems like there’s way more interaction throughout the whole town. I always felt like the original was fun to do the daily things like Wheel of Wow, Gem hunts, and Wishing Well. But this is giving me fun tasks that makes it even better! I just wish my game wouldn’t freeze every time I go into the arcade. I have a few tasks right now requiring me to play games, and can’t compete them but my screen freezes every time :(. Other than that it’s a total win for me!

The graphics and stuffed animals are unappealing
I just don’t understand why they created a new game? They could have updated the old one and if it was about the old pets not being able to transfer send a notice and then give those players access to new characters or credits for what had been lost…I think the new dolls are not pleasing to look at and are copy’s of those TY dolls…would’ve much rather an updated model of the classic Webkinz instead of a whole new model that strays from the original design. I think you should focus on the fact that the OG players of Webkinz are the parents of today’s children and are going to be the ones spending money on these games…I for sure won’t be spending $30 on a copy cat stuff animal…not to mention that the graphics are so unappealing and don’t feel soft and fluffy like the Webkinz classic…instead of having two separate games they should’ve been merged the new game has so much potential if only it copied the og designs. I have hope you guys will fix this and merge the designs.

Classic is better
This is my first Webkinz experience, but this game really got me. First, Classic had like 7 starter pets, while Next has only 3. Also, Diamonds cost money? This is a KIDS GAME. All purchases should be optional, and not needed to play the game casually. Playing Next free is hard because it would take MONTHS just to get ONE pet. 5 diamonds a week is not enough. You also earn very little Kinzcash. In the arcade. I played Goodie Gumdrops for 5 minutes and only got 12 KINZCASH. On top of that, the items cost way to much. Gem hunting is better, but also a bit tedious. I’m spending more time at the arcade and Curio shop trying to get Kinzcash then actually taking care of my pet. A few days after I downloaded this game, I switched to Classic. Classic feels way better. Balanced number of what you earn and how much to earn more, and NO DIAMONDS! It feels a lot less time consuming and tedious to play Classic then Next. I personally like Classic better.
